Rated 4 out of 5 by from So Far So Good I should have bought protection like this a long time ago it would have saved me from a world of hurt. First time using this product and it's already saved from injury. While snowboarding on powder packed powder I fell twice on my back from a height 3 feet and slid over a rock with my rib cage exposed, didn't feel a thing! Had I not been wearing protection yesterday I know I'd be hurting today. I should note that In 20 degree weather this top also keeps you warm. In terms of range of motion, I was able to pull 180's, reverse grabs, toe edge grabs etc, without feeling hindered. You actually don't notice you're wearing this gear. I can even throw a hoodie on or long sleeve shirt without any hassle. One concern I had was would the protective padding stay in place? So far so good. Shoulder and elbow pads seat nicely against your joints without hindering range of motion, rib protection flexes but doesn't migrate from vital regions. Most importantly the spine protection covers approximately T1-L3 and a portion of your scapula. Apparently there is also an option to protect your C-spine (sold separately). The only flaw I'd say is that the rib pads are not removable when washing the Flex Force top, otherwise all the other pads can be removed prior to throwing it in the wash. All in all I know that I can still easily get hurt on the slopes, however this item reduces the chances of certain injuries of which I'm grateful. It's nice to ride with more confidence knowing that if you take a hit you're less likely to sit out the season with an obnoxious injury. No guarantee's though if you eat it from a 10-20 ft fall, but it may save you from kissing a rail and knocking the wind out of you!
