Jun 12, 2015comfortable for hours and hours
Read More The Fizik Aliante is the most comfortable and versatile saddle I’ve ridden in a long time. I can ride for hours and not even think about the saddle. If I need to scootch my butt around to vary my seating position, I can do so without penalty; there are no designated sit points for my hip bones to fall off of and no center cutout to snag my junk. I’ve ridden at least a dozen different saddles on my own bikes in the past few years. Almost all of them got returned quickly or donated after a few hundred miles. I’ve learned that a good saddle will be comfortable the first time I ride it. If it’s really good, I’ll even forget about it. This Fisik saddle is as perfect a saddle as I’ve ever ridden. I’m currently using it on a cyclocross bike that I also use for touring. It’s set up with a semi-upright seating position. To calibrate my feedback, I’m a medium sized 50-ish male specimen. I commute by bike and ride just about every day. On my commuter bike and my road bike, I’m ok with skinnier saddles with the sit bumps and center cutouts. But I don’t spend long hours on those saddles, either. If you are looking for comfortable saddle that doesn’t need 17 coats of special sauce, a rain cover, and 500 miles of break-in, the Fizik Aliante is worth a try.
