Read More I had fairly high expectations of these socks. I'd say they are very water resistant as opposed to water proof. I have worn them running in very wet contusion a from melting snow and the did a great job but my feet still got cold. It's tough to say about the level of water proofing because your feet will sweat so will then be wet so which is better? They are absolutely better then just wearing normal socks but at such a high price point maybe you just stick with the gym on rainy days. I'd recommend them but with some reluctance. -
Feb 6, 2015Better than expectedI havent used it for my trail running but I know it will perform as expected. I have it ready for use and I poured water over them and they stayed dry!

Read More I originally bought these to help keep my feet warm while mountain biking (which I have not had a chance to use for this purpose). However, this past weekend I completed an 11 mile race through mud, slush, snow, and water in 40 degree Fahrenheit temperatures. As I get cold easily, I cannot express enough how happy and excited I was to have warm, dry feet at the end of the race. (I ordered the medium size which was perfect for wearing a thin pair of woolies underneath.)

Read More So I've been riding and training in these socks and they've been pretty good, my toes still get a bit cold though, however, this type of activity is not where these socks really shine. They really stand up to the test when tide pooling in the cold Pacific Ocean at night and you step into the rising tide and YOUR FOOT STAYS DRY AND WARM!!!! Seriously. It was magical. At that moment, I was pretty much sold on almost everything Sealskinz makes or might make in the future. I promptly began to sell everyone who was near to me on the wonders of Sealskinz socks. Thanks guys, this stuff totally jortzed me!
