Rated 3 out of 5 by from great mid layer but needs belt loops I was looking for an additional mid layer pant to supplement my fleece pants for winter offshore fishing. I found this pant and knew of Arc'teryx's reputation, and was able to buy it on sale someplace else. Wearing a hard shell, the Atom Lt kept my lower torsal warm. pros - very light pair of pants - very warm as a mid layer - can be worn as a top layer - great mobility cons - needs belt loops - found the pants slips down as the elastic waist is not as fitting. its a loose stretch. - as a guy, a fly would be very useful. - should come in in short, regular, long lengths

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good mid layer - needs belt loops Purchased this pants as additional layering for my winter offshore fishing trips. I have the hoodie jacket and really liked it so I ordered the pants. Pants are very warm, can be worn as an outershell, very light. and breaks the wind even though not windproof. The cons- no fly nor belt loops. I belt loop would benefit me to hold the pants up if I didn't wear it over another base or midlayer and to attach tools on if worn as a shell. Can't give it 5 stars. Giving it 4 but really a 3.5 due to the lack of belt loops.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light but warm! I love these pants, I've been wearing them near daily for this cold winter. The heater is broken in my car and these have been a lifesaver, really easy to put on over whatever pants you are already wearing thanks to the side zips. I've been looking for a nice insulated pant for a while now (hard to find) to wear under my ski pants and these work great for that too on the cold days skiing, right under my shell. I'm also a birder and that means long periods of time standing still lakeside and Lake Erie is cold and windy yet I had no trouble in these I was perfectly comfortable for hours with just some light pants underneath (then when back in the car you can easily remove them or just vent them with the zips). Very wind proof. Not for bushwacking as the fabric is Atom LT, but they are water repellant. Only complaints are that I wish they had a fly, and I wish they had some sort of external pocket. The fit is a little baggy/goofy looking but who cares when its this cold, the baggyness does help when moving, they are not constricting at all for any motion. Overall awesomeness.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It would only require to have a front zipper;-) It is really warm for a static environment. It only would require belt loops and a front zipper fly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from These are perfect! Exactly what I was looking for. Wools and shell pants don't cut it because I've leaned out so much. This mid layer is awesome even swing on a chair lift in -20 and blowing winds I was warm! Love the full zipper legs. Makes it so easy to remove or add the layer. Could use a small pocket on one side for iphone. the pouch pocket inside is a bit of a bugger to get things in and out of.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light & Warm I very like this pants. It's light. And I use it in temperature range from 15°C to -26°C (with base layer).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Definite Favourite I packed these pants on a ski trip to northern Ontario to travel light. Temps were much colder than usual, consistently -25 Celsius with wind chills to -40. Wow! These pants are very comfortable and provided the perfect amount of insulation and wind protection. Even without a base layer, the insulation was perfect for walking around. Pants were breathable and extremely light. I used these pants beneath a ski pant shell for the entire weekend, and stayed in them while hanging inside the chalet. VERY comfortable!
