Read More I bought this last November on Black Friday Sale. Have not taken it off since I received it. Pros: -Records steps with high accuracy (I measured against two other devices and a manual count) -Waterproof is really nice, I never take it off -Nice watch face (this is one reason I chose over the VitBit) -Syncs Nicely with phone or computer -Syncs with MyFitnessPal app for calorie in/out calculations -Heart Rate Monitor is comfortable Cons - The wrist band started falling off easily after a few months of wearing it. - At month 9 of wearing the wrist ban is actually disintegrating (the connection points to the face are almost gone and the lower adjustment holes have broken off) - If you are on a dirt road and travelling by car, the bumps count as steps! (I walked 30,000 steps one day when I never even got out of the truck!) - Does not account for bike ridding (I pair the heart rate activity with the Strava App and enter the data manually into the Vivofit app). -Will not work for swimming either (but that's a lofty request for these devices) Overall, I can live with these cons (as long as I dont lose the device from the terrible wristband falling off). I like it and would consider buying it again. -

The pedometer was somewhat accurate when worn on wrist but not any better than my $30 pedometer. Worst part is that it just stopped working for no reason and it isn't all that old. Not impressed. -

Read More I am choosing to rate this a one because after two weeks of activity, and never taking off the vivofit, it started falling off, fell off mid ride, and is now forever lost. It is hard to rate this item higher, because when I can't use it to track my activity, I dont see it as fulfilling its responsibilities. :) Replacements are not part of the warranty, and I understand that. Garmin will offer you a discount of $69 for a new item, however, $70 is not worth another risk of trying for two weeks to have it fall off again. I was hoping Garmin would replace the item, but since that isn't in their plan, I will be replacing it with another branded product when I can afford another one. I was also disappointed with the look of this item. You can tell by the photos that this is a more sporty 'looking' design than others. I ordered in blue thinking i could pull off a vibrant color with my outfits, but I still felt it was awkward with my day to day work clothes. Just doesn't look sharp. There are pros to this device which is why i purchased it in the first place. The water proof and battery life was a main reason I purchased this device, and it is extremely handy to not have to charge it. Especially if you are trying to get a base line to improve from. I like the display and it is easy to read. I like having the ability to view steps directly on the band because I do not like having to rely on my phone to see where I am toward my goal. (In my ideal world, I am not carrying my phone while I'm running, walking, etc.) The heart rate monitor worked well, though I only tried it three times before losing the vivofit and was unable to verify its accuracy. I liked that it makes you turn on sleep mode, as I understand other devices will code inactivity as sleep if you take it off to shower. hope they'll fix the band in the next round. apparently this is a common problem -

Read More This has been a great motivator. I love that the display is so easy to see and that so much information is displayed by just clicking through the options. The software is fun and easy to use. I'm very competitive with myself, so the tracking features are great to help me try and beat my own personal bests. However, after just over 6 months of use it died today. Hopefully, REI will replace it with a nice new one that might last longer. -

Read More I had researched activity trackers for a few weeks before I decided to choose the vivofit and I am so glad I did. The selling point for me was that it came along with a heart rate monitor. Since Hiking is my primary exercise I wanted my activity tracker to accurately measure how much effort I was putting into my workout instead of only basing it off of distance traveled. It is comfortable and not nearly as big on my wrist as I assumed it would be. The inactivity warning bar is nice because it will get me up and moving after I have been sedentary for too long. Even if I don't go workout every time I see the bar, it usually gets me to do something more productive than what I had previously been doing.
Read More I loved it for the first few months - very motivating, and accurate enough for me. However, the display started to fade to the point where I couldn't read it. I returned it and Garmin sent me a refurbished one. Not two months later I'm having the exact same problem. I'm sending it back tomorrow. It's still under warranty so it's free, but I doubt I'll buy another when (yes, when) the warranty expires and the next one breaks.
