Nov 13, 2015Missing accessoriesPacking was damaged and torn. Main issue was that it was missing lanyard and a spare O-ring. Also I'm not a fan of the greenish tint of this light. Seems a bit too large for a pocket light.

Read More I've purchased, and returned, two of these in the last six months. Both returned for the same reason, the MODE switch, which toggles through the various brightness levels, quits working. Then starts working. Then quits again. The second one, given by REI as a replacement for the first, didn't work new out of the box. Then, when standing in line to return it, it started working. Then two weeks later, at 6AM, when I needed it to work, it was stuck in LOW mode. Very disappointing, as the light is great in all other aspects. The LD41s I've bought at the local REI are the older 680 lumen models. New production by Fenix are 960 lumens. Maybe they're better. -

Read More I own 2 of these and I'm convinced there's not a better flashlight out there that uses common AA batteries. I have found all of the brightness levels useful and the turbo mode is really, really bright! The strobe function would disorient someone for self defense purposes. It uses a regulator that keeps the brightness consistent without any dimming as the batteries weaken, as other flashlights do. It fits in my hand well and it feels very solid. It doesn't roll if laid on an uneven surface and there are no concerns if it gets wet. I had it on a group camping trip any everyone was so impressed that they each bought one for themselves. Top notch product! -
Nov 18, 2014Test before buying...poor qualityI purchased two of these. Both were defective (the mode switch didn't work with either of them). The manufacturer and distributor were completely unhelpful. Quality is poor.

Read More The Fenix Fenix LD41 is a great value for this price point. If you use rechargable NiMh AAs you can keep this light ready. Keep some Lithium batteries for emergencies and in your car and you are all set for power outages. LiON batteries do not leak and have a 10 years shelf life. The user interface is easy and one, while not a dive light, campers/hikers do not have to worry about using this light in the rain or damp.
