Read More This boots are great, well contracted, very durable and premium quality. Yesterday was the first time I wore this to summit Mt. Baldy. I got blisters on both heels. I was so disappointed, I've had Vasque boots before, I am an avid hiker, have done Half Dome, Grand Canyon, etc and NEVER got blisters from old Vasque boots. Boots felt comfortable, had liner and wool socks, were laced up good. Not sure why I got blisters, maybe I needed a smaller size?? Need to find something quick as I am hiking up to Mt. Whitney end of August…..

Read More Bought these at the Memorial Day REI sale to replace my old Montrail Torre GTX boots (which were awesome). These are very light weight and comfortable. At first I thought they might rub my ankles but after a quick tweak to the way I laced them, they have been great. Hardly any break-in time. Hopefully these will hold up as the hiking miles pile up. -

I absolutely love them. I have gotten all my boots at REI and these are by far the cream of the crop. I have an older version with red laces and accents and I was hoping to be able to purchase a new pair of the same kind. Any chance that style will reappear? Thanks for making the best boot, Vasque!

Read More I bought these to replace my heavy Lowa boots which wore out after a good run. Though I was initially reluctant to go with a "lighter" boot, the Takus have proven to be great---a perfect balance that keeps them sturdy enough for light backpacking but light and almost athletic at the same time. They are well-made, comfortable, and a great fit for me (though they are slightly narrower than some other boots I tried on). The lacing system is unique (steel hoops woven on to the shoe in place of the usual rivets). It seems a bit more difficult than usual to get the bootlace tension right when first lacing up, but after you're laced up, these boots seem to keep the tension longer than most, meaning fewer adjustments on the path. A stellar boot all around. -

Read More I got these from the last garage sale for only $27 in fairly good condition. I took them out for the first time yesterday on an overnight on the AT. I put in 15 miles between yesterday and today. I normally wear oboz and my feet end up hurting after a few miles. Not the case with these. My feet are wide and flat. The med size was perfect. The lacing system is great too. My boots remained tight after 7 miles one way going up and down hills. My only complaint is the lugs on the bottom. They could be a little more aggressive. Besides that they performed great even with a 30 pound load on my back. -

Read More I bought these few months ago and wore them for local day hikes. I was hoping the shoes would break in after few wears. I was wrong. I am still struggling with that. Other than that, shoe is light weight for ankle boots. Don't be fooled...this was't water as I was expecting.
Read More I bought the Taku GTX boots for a recent hiking trip in western Canada. The boots were awesome - I wore them several times before the trip to break them in for shorter walks and even around the house. We hiked anywhere from 8km - 15km per day on the trip. I had absolutely no issues with my feet! We encountered rain, a bit of snow, and sunshine. My feet were dry, comfortable and protected the entire time! There was a range of terrain (boulders/rock, pebble/dirt trail, over 1000m elevation gain) and the boots performed great in all. Would definitely recommend!
