It works well as a rain coat and a wind breaker as well. Very warm. Professional looking enough to wear for my job. Big Fan of North Face Products -

Read More This is a well made, well designed jacket. Good length, nice cover flap with velcro for front zipper. Love the pit zips and ability to tighten sleeves at wrist with velcro. Did not expect material to be so stiff, hard to keep hood flat on back and front material pokes me in the chin when zipped up. -

Read More I live in the Pacific Northwest, and so a good, solid raincoat is a must-have. I recently purchased this jacket on sale, and it accomplishes everything I've needed it to do so far! I'm a frequent bike commuter, and need a jacket that is simultaneously waterproof, lightweight, breathable, and highly visible-- the Venture ticks all four boxes. The material is thin and flexible enough that I can pack it down small to fit in the (tight) pocket of my jeans, and it doesn't hold the creases. I've worn it walking, hiking, and biking in light to heavy rain so far, and while none of my ventures (ha) have lasted for more than 2+ hours, I didn't experience any leaking or dampness-- of course, this may occur when the jacket gets older. The Venture has pit zips to keep me cool sprinting up hills, while the rest of the jacket blocks out chilly winds. The only drawback for me is the torso length; I'm a relatively short person with a small waist and wide hips, and the proportions of the jacket aren't quite right for me. I have to pull the drawstrings in the hem tight so it sits above the widest point of my hips, or else the jacket extends awkwardly over the top of my thighs, where it is too tight for good mobility, yet the rest of the garment is more than roomy enough to accommodate several (fluffy!) layers. But that seems like more my problem than the North Face's. -
Feb 1, 2016Good valueThe fabric has more body to it than another north face rain jacket I own therefore less wrinkles. Good travel jacket.
