Read More My sons are very thin. Therefore I always look for hiking shorts with an adjustable waist. Unfortunately, although these shorts have an adjustable waist, the adjustment is all in the back of the shorts which results in pulling the pockets way toward the back. This causes the pockets to be less useful and to look really odd as well once the waist is cinched up. These shorts probably work fine for kids with a waist closer the the actual waist size of the shorts. Have to return.
