    Great for climbers
Love how I can fit multiple pairs of climbing shoes my harness and extra clothing in this pack when I'm on a trip or just going to the indoor wall.

My osprey talon pack worked well on my cross England hike. Lightweight, accessible pockets, and easy to adjust.

This pack is SICK! I used this pack for the first time this week and it was amazing! I used for an overnight as a trip leader (so I carried all my gear, and a lot of other gear), and this pack handled it very well. I fit a 4lb pack of hot dogs, my sleeping bag (a pretty large 32 degree bag), my eno, straps, camp pillow, my tarp strapped to the bottom, and all of my food with room to spare. I love the hydration sleeve it makes refills a breeze and the side compression held my nalgenes wonderfully. The pack rides very well if you pack it right and get it adjusted right, I forgot I had it on a few times! Osprey makes an amazing product!

I bought this as a smaller day pack (than my day and a half pack) that I hoped I could use for bike commuting as well. Turns out it is a fantastic daypack/hiking pack/carryon luggage pack. It has the pockets/nooks/crannies I want for bottles, phone, other stuff, but it has inner frame material that dig into my neck if I try and ride with it. So I am glad I have it, but I am still going to need to get another pack for cycling.

I have to admit, I'm a big fan of Osprey packs. I own 18, 33, 44 Talon 'day' packs and an Aether 70L backpacker. I bought the 33 because I needed a day pack that was bigger than my existing 18, but didn't have an internal frame like my 44. I also wanted to make sure it was small enough that it could fit under an airplane seat (the 44L is really only suited to the overhead bin, no matter how little it contains). So, the Talon 33 fitted the bill nicely. Like my other Osprey packs this one is incredibly comfortable once its adjusted correctly. This takes a bit of trial and error, but worth the effort. The Talon 33 easily held my camelbak, a spare fleece and jacket, camera, and snacks on some long hikes during a recent vacation. Once fitted it clung firmly to my back, even when I was scrabbling on scree or over large boulders. This pack also worked really well as a carryon bag, and held a change of clothes, iPad, water bottle, etc with ease. Highly recommended.

This is my first day pack. I bought it for a guided "glamping" trek through the andes in peru and a visit to machu picchu. My only other hiking pack that i have experience with is a 65L field and stream back packing pack from Dicks. I opted for the 33L over the 22L as I thought it had more versatility than the 22. I have yet to use it as a minimal overnight pack, but as other reviewers have stated, i seems like it would suit that purpose OK. I too wish it had sleeping pad straps for a tent or pad. As a day pack 33L it is really over kill during the summer. I find myself not having to find more stuff to fill it just so its not so empty. During the winter/bad weather where you would need more layers or if you require extra gear (rock climbing, etc.) it would be fine. I bought a second hand osprey daylite off ebay, which is 13L. For some reason I keep feeling that the daylite is too small and the 33L is too big for my needs. I almost wish i just got the 22L. It would be useful for more regular use as it is panel loading. The huge brain/hood on the 33 sags down very far unless the pack is pretty full, which is annoying appearance wise and it allows rain to reach the opening to the main compartment more easily. You can see an example of what I'm talking about in the photo i uploaded. The newer models have a floating/removable top compartment, olders models didnt have that feature and were permanently attached to the main compartment so they did not sag down as far. Even with the top compartment tightened as close to the main pack as possible it still sags farther than I'd like. Also when the bag is mostly empty the compression straps dangle all over when theyre tightened all the way. 33L is just an awkward size. For short hikes the daylite is more appropriate, for over nights I almost feel like it would just be easier to use the 65L even thought thats big for one night it does have room for a sleeping bag and tent. It does fit in over head compartments on airplanes though, even when full. However, it is very comfortable and i love all the features it has. For just a few more bucks and a few more ounces than the 22L sometimes its nice to have the extra capacity and the ability to over stuff the bag without worrying about zippers breaking.

I recently got back from a trip to Zion National Park and used this pack as a daypack. The 33L provided more than enough room for my needs. I also tested it out as an overnight pack, fitting my down sleeping bag, sleeping pad, and tent easily with room for food. I'm not too sure what the other reviewer was talking about with something rubbing his arm, I didn't have any problems with straps rubbing my arm. Some of my favorite features of this pack include: - It's lightweight and very comfortable - The airspace back panel works well and I didn't experience any major back sweat from wearing this pack 8+ hours a day. - The exterior compartment for a bladder is extremely convenient, except I would recommend loading your bladder first then the packing your gear. It was difficult fitting the bladder in once the pack was already full with gear. It does fit a 3L bladder with ease. - Zipper pockets on the hip belt. - A very large hood with a mesh zippered pocket on the underside. - The stretch pockets on the sides and back are excellent and very stretchy. The side pockets easily fit a 1L Nalgene and you could probably fit a helmet into the back one. There are two features that I wish this pack had and for that I would take off 1/2 a star if I could: - No sleeping pad straps. I wish there were removable sleeping pad straps on the outside of this pack to lash gear onto. - No daisy chains on the back to attach gear to either. I love this pack and would certainly recommend it if you are looking for a daypack with some extra space or a light overnight pack.

I recently bought this to replace a worn out REI Flash 30. It really seems like it's more than 3 liters larger than that pack. At 1 lb 13 oz, it's an incredibly light pack. It held everything I needed for a minimalist overnighter with room to spare. It's comfortable to carry with one exception: there is a keeper strap for headphones on the left shoulder strap that kept rubbing my arm. I will be removing this. Other than that, I am extremely impressed with this pack, and I think it will handle the years of use I have planned for it. Also, Osprey's warranty is outstanding if I ever do have a problem. Some of the features I found particularly clever and useful are: Zippered map pocket under top closure Elastic pouches on shoulder straps Adjustability Whistle built into chest strap Back elastic pouch for jackets/quick access Water bottle pockets large enough to use when pack is full
