Read More I bought this for my trip to Yosemite. The pros are that it is lightweight, very small, and incredibly easy to inflate. The cons are that it slides around everywhere because it's pretty much a frictionless surface. It also just hurt my neck. I might have kept it if it were cheaper, but for 20 bucks I returned it. -

Read More I did really like how light and compact the the Flash pillow is. It is the perfect size to fit into the "head box" at the top of my mummy bag. It was very easy to inflate and I like the way the air valve functions. However, I found that the pillow would slide out from under my head because the material it is made of slides around very easily on the material my sleeping bag is made of. I tried the pillow while laying in my hammock too and it kept sliding out from under my head. Also, I sleep on my side a lot so when either side of my head was on the pillow, it sort of amplified the thumping and whooshing noise of my pulse heard through my ear. Also when laying the side of my head on the pillow, I got the feeling of having pressure in my ear because the surface of the pillow created a bit of an air seal, trapping air in my ear. The Flash pillow was more comfortable than using a bunch of rolled up clothes like I usually do. I tried inflating the pillow to different levels but in the end I decided to exchange it for a Cocoon Hyperlite pillow. -

Read More I have a bad neck and have to have good support for it when sleeping, so needed to look for something other then a rolled up t-shirt, but really didn't want to start packing a pillow. This does the job. It supports my neck nicely at about half air capacity and packs so small that I don't even think about it. My only complaint would be that the material is plasticy and crinkly and I sweat and get sticky where skin is in direct contact with the pillow. I'm thinking about making a tiny pillow case for it to alleviate this issue. -

Read More I was about to head into Mt Rainier National Park and stopped in the REI near Tacoma to get a few items when I remembered I didn't have a pillow (I was fed up with using my clothes as a pillow). I quickly selected this one based entirely on how small and light it was when deflated. Deflated, it was smaller than a stack of square Post-It notes. My only critique is that it was a little small for my head, but the bigger pillows the store had to offer would have taken up a significant amount of room in my pack. This item is great for people who are concerned about weight in their packs but are not ultra-light obsessive. -

Read More This pillow is perfect if you sleep on your back and pretty darn good if you sleep on your side. Given its already minimal weight, I'm not sure why they couldn't have made it just an inch thicker to provide a little more flexibility for sleeping configurations. I used it with a mummy bag, so I had no issues with it sliding around at all. I also didn't have any qualms with the material and found it to be plenty comfortable. Regarding the air valve, I also didn't have any problems here as I thought it was still plenty soft even when I inflated it as much as I could. Overall a wonderful pillow, just wish it was a bit thicker for sleeping on my side. But at the 1.5 oz, you can't go wrong. -

Read More I recently used this pillow and feel that I am able to write a fair review based on my experience. PROS: - VERY compact and light - Held air for 3-day trip without being re-inflated - Easy to keep clean - Seems to be very durable CONS: - The valve is not a twist valve..it is a push/pull valve so it does not allow for you to slowly bleed air if you wish to soften the pillow. You will need to regulate it by not inflating it all the way. - The material is VERY slippery when placed against a sleeping bag. If you have a pillow pocket in your sleeping bag it won't be so bad, but it still moves a fair amount. - The material is can be cold against your head. Overall I think this is a great pillow, with a few small improvements it would be even better.
Read More Pros: Lightweight/Small in package. Easy to inflate/deflate Cons: Slips around/doesn't do the trick. I took this to Denali and used it off and on for 2.5 weeks. It was lightweight, but often slipped around when it was just inside my sleeping bag. My conclusions: if you're camping on non-standard ground, this isn't really going to fix any of your leveling problems. Better to just ditch the flash pillow and fill a stuff sack with extra clothes/food as a pillow. If you're going on a longer trip on level ground and weight/space isn't as much of an issue, bring a non-inflatable pillow.
