Apr 23, 2015great lampThe lamp is compact but puts out excellent light with multiple setting options. It's great to illuminate any part of your camp site or hang inside your tent.

Read More Being a long time white gas/propane lantern user, I was skeptical about switching to a battery powered lantern. Best move I ever made! This thing gives off more than enough light around the camp, is rugged and well put together and appears to have the battery life as claimed and best of all it's a lot safer than the old gas/propane models. Love the "upside down" feature and the removable globe.. -

Read More Wow, this thing was bright. I hung it from a branch about 8 feet over our main sitting area while backpacking and the light covered a 35' diameter around the area. It was sturdy to be so lightweight, but not sure it would have survived the 8 foot fall without the globe. -

Read More I bought this light as a compliment to a slightly higher rated and more expensive rechargeable light. The 30 day lantern was noticeably brighter and 32 hours on high vs. 3 hours on the rechargeable makes this light far superior in my opinion, not to mention the 6 hour recharge time on the other lantern. I used them both camping last week to make my comparison. Tomorrow the other light will be returned and I will purchase a 2nd 30 day lantern. -

Read More I read about the UST 30 day light and finally checked it out. Using D cell batteries give a long run time and the hook that allows one th set the light up high in a cabin or room is very useufl. Probably to big for backpacking. Our main use will be as an emergency power outage light. Much better than lights that eat up AA or AAA batteries.
Read More Have been using white gas lantern for a long time. Broke the glass globe. Bought this instead of new globe for camping. Good light output. We used this inside our tent to play card games. Like the build quality. One negative is the build-in recessed hook for holding this upside down. We used the hook to hang the lantern upside down in our tent. While the kids were playing inside the tent, they knocked it down and it fell (about 6'). Fortunately, other than small scratch, no damage. Wished the hook had a clip or something similar so kids can't knock it off. Would still recommend it. Using only 3 D size battery, good light and compact.
