Read More It's been a while since I've been so enamored with a pack -- and I own a lot of them. This is that perfect size daypack that still has a real waistbelt. It has two main pockets that are perfect for all the gear I need for an extended dayhike, including jackets, first aid kit, gloves, hat, food and even a small thermos in one of the side pockets. The real plus is the amazing expando pocket on the back. Zipped up it is a nice trim pocket for incidentals. Unzipped and you can fit a helmet in it. Great for quickly stuffing in your down jacket that you needed at the chilly start. I've used this as my carry on bag for a light & fast two nighter to New Orleans. Has a perfect sized, zippered pocket for passports in the smaller pocket. If I lost this tomorrow I'd order another one immediately. -
Aug 22, 2014didn't work for meI was looking for a very lightweight daypack. This didn't work for me because it turned out not to hold enough. I returned it

Read More I bicycle commute or run to work with this pack holding my lunch, change of clothes and sometimes even a laptop computer. I've had this pack for a year with daily use taking it off and on multiple times a day and it has held up great. The pack is comfortable for running (4.5 miles to work) even with a laptop in there or a heavy lunch The zipper did separate where the laptop corner was pushing on it but the company repaired it at no charge and put in a heavy duty zipper. I love that it has multiple outside compartments to separate my soap, shampoo, lock and goggles from the garage door opener, pepper spray 9dogs) and then inside for my credit cards, ID badge, etc. -

Read More I use this primarily for cycling so I wanted a pack that was light and wouldn't make me sweat. It's very light and has a large easy to access pocket to stuff the things I like/need to carry while cycling. It also has a water bottle pouch, and very large interior zipped compartment that can easily hold extra layers. There is also a small zipped pouch on top that is great for the small tools, etc I like to have with me. As far as sweating goes...well, I still get a pretty sweaty back even though the surface against my back is obviously an attempt at reducing this effect. All-in-all, I enjoy the pack and will continue to use it...probably for a number of years -

Read More This pack is a super solid hiking, biking, or even kayak/canoe pack that sticks to your back like your own skin regardless of the activity. It is my most comfy pack and the design allows it to hold a day worth of adventure supplies. I have the older version so some of the aesthetics may have changed* The expandable outside mesh pocket allows for extra storage in addition to a well organized inner system. The whole pack is really breathable. For such a small pack it can hold a good deal of weight and more importantly carry the load really well. Overall awesome pack, super comfy, and sturdy - it's my go to pack for day trips -

Read More Well made, well designed versatile backpack. It's very light weight but still offers good shoulder and back support. It's small but holds a surprising number of things - pockets on each side hold large water bottles, open back case fits bike helmets, space for a large hydration pack with a little clip on the straps to hold the tube, side pockets on the waist straps big enough to hold your cell phone/creditcards/cash, top pocket holds things like granola bars, keys, wallet and finally the main compartment big enough for jackets, books, or sneakers. I've worn this mountain biking and it stayed snug on my back. I've worn this on day hikes and around town and it looks and feels great.
Read More There are backpacks that suit all sorts of activities. For me, I was looking for something around this size. I actually wanted the miwok 24 but rei didn't have it so I got the 18. What really caught my eye on this is how light it is, how simple but useful the pockets are and the water bottle holders. I do not like backpacks with the mesh and elastic water bottle holders. If u have anything thicker than a 500ml water bottle it doesn't always fit that well. Enter the miwok backpack by Gregory. This little guy has a solid material water bottle pocket with a strap to cinch it down. I can easily put a 1 liter Nalgene in this guy. The down side to such a big water bottle is that it reduces your inner space. So depending on what u pack, it might require some readjusting or repacking. I have really found the front helmet pouch to be incredibly useful. I've stuffed jackets and water bottles and sandals in there and it just holds it like nothing is going on. I've always found waist and chest straps to be very handy. With the miwok, u get both but an added convenience are the 2 waist pockets. They're big enuf to hold my wallet or money clip and maybe even my cell phone. There is a surprising amount of space in this one. I like the shoulder straps and the back padding. Yes, I sweat a little with it on but not too badly compared to other backpacks. I've not tested how good it is with heavy activities. The website shows people wearing it while mountain biking. There is supposed to be some tech involved with the strapping system that allows for the bag to move with u and absorb the shock for u. I've only walked miles with it and I can say I've been very happy overall with it. Personally, I think I will still get the miwok 24 now that I know how nice the 18 is. Just a little more space is what I'm looking for. But if used for the right purpose this bag is perfect. It will be my riding backpack when the season comes. Right now, it's my travel backpack but it's a little smaller than I'd like for that.... Hence the 24.
