Read More Very easy to customize to any boot. Just measure the proper length (hopefully using old laces), cut, apply match to heat-shrink tubing, and thread through eyelets. The only problem I had was that one set of eyelets was very small, and the heat-shrunk tips couldn't get through them. Luckily, they still work fine, as the problem eyelets were at the top of the boot, just before the open-jaw eyelets common on most hiking boots. -

Read More I initially chose this product because I couldn't remember what length I needed. Next time I would wait until I were certain of my desired length. The purchaser may select the optimum length and use the shrink tubing to make a passable new tip. This is nice if you want to minimize lace length. The shrink tubing tips may be too large for boots that use holes, and can still be tedious for small loops. If the purchased has an application such as this, consider conventional laces or something of a smaller diameter that is less pliable.
