- Tough 420-denier polyester fabric has durable water repellent and polyurethane coatings to help shed moisture when you're stepping in puddles or hiking in the rain
- 500-denier durable nylon scuff guards protect high-wear areas from abrasion
- Heavy-duty 1.5 in. hook-and-loop front closures provide a secure and adjustable fit
- Shockcord and hooks at the bottoms ensure a snug fit around many types of footwear; shockcords at the tops secure the gaiters around your calves
- Rugged Hypalon® instep straps wrap underneath your shoes; buckle allows strap length adjustment

Gaiter sizes fit U.S. boot sizes as follows:
- Small/Medium fits men's sizes 5 - 9 and women's 6.5 - 10
- Large/X-Large fits men's sizes 9.5 - 13 and women's 10.5 and up

Feb 24, 2016Old Models BestThey do not stay up. Fabric not as stiff as old gaiters. The keeper for the strap is to high up. Strap falls out.

Jan 28, 2015Why didn't I buy these sooner?These gaiters are great! They fit over my snow pants with room to spare. I have trekked through tons of deep snow without any issues. These gaiters seal out the cold air too.

They did not close around my bare leg and I will need these to close around a pant let. I'll have to make another trip to REI to return these and hope I can find a pair that fit. The quality is good so I'm giving these 3 stars despite not being able to use them. -

The only downfall I would have to say is that they don't really let your legs breathe. So when I took them off they were covered in sweat. It says they go up to your mid calf but if you have shorter legs like me they go up to your knee. -

Read More Excellent wear and tear resistant polyurethane coated nylon. I recreationally use these gaiters to repel mud, snow, and water while trekking. There is slight fraying of the fabric sandwiched between the neoprene molded straps. REI L/XL is the largest Mens size available. NOTE CUSTOM FIT: I seam ripped and hemmed in some scrap nylon fabric. Once sewn back together, I coated where I let out with Silnet. I also cut out the cord, and added a one inch nylon webbing strap. Now I have a much more comfortable XL/XL size. (See pictures) CAUTION: Altering your gear may void REI warranty. Don't attempt this modification unless your confident it will work. If your not sure, consult a professional. -
