REI Alpine Light Gaiters Video
Slightly shorter than most waterproof gaiters, the REI Alpine Light gaiters cover less of your legs yet still effectively keep snow, rain and debris out of your boots when you're on the trail.
- Gaiters feature waterproof, breathable uppers to keep rain and snow out while allowing sweat vapor to escape to the outside of the fabric
- 500-denier durable nylon scuff guards protect high-wear areas from abrasion
- Heavy-duty 1.5 in. hook-and-loop front closures provide a secure and adjustable fit
- Shockcord and hooks at the bottoms ensure a snug fit around many types of footwear; shockcords at the tops secure the gaiters around your calves
- Rugged Hypalon® instep straps wrap underneath your shoes buckle allows strap length adjustment

Gaiter sizes fit U.S. boot sizes as follows:
- Small/Medium fits men's sizes 5 - 9 and women's 6.5 - 10
- Large/X-Large fits men's sizes 9.5 - 13 and women's 10.5 and up

Read More Just bought these on Saturday. Tried them on Sunday for an 8 mile hike knowing there would be lots of mud. They worked great! They are so light, you don't know you are wearing them. The fabric is waterproof and easy to clean up after hiking. They stay up great and do not fall down on my calf. I love them and will wear them in spring too with my shorts. -

Because they can be tightened at the bottom, they fit all my waterproof hikers from my big insulated winter boots to my mesh trail runners. The height is perfect. The top adjustment works great. They are lightweight, quiet, breathable - everything I have been looking for and could not find until now. I gave them 4 stars because I don't know how well they will hold up. -

Read More I like the lightness and breathability, plus a practical instep strap that won't wear out after 50 miles. I managed to completely submerge both feet above the top of the gaiters for about 5-6 seconds crossing a snowy creek and amazingly both feet came out dry. I was wearing a soft-shell pant over the gaiter so that had a lot to do with it. I did have the that bottom bungee cord clipped to the hook, but the gaiter fits fairly snug without using it. The only thing to dislike is the non-tapered cut of the gaiter top. The diameter of the top is the same as the bottom which results in a lot of extra, useless fabric which must be gathered with the top bungee cord to get it anywhere close to snug around the lower leg. Were it not for that, I would have given it five stars.

Read More Although I really liked the lightweight fabric and the styling of these leg gaiters, I was disappointed to find that although the specs said they were 12" high, they were in fact barely 9" at the highest point. Too short to be of much protection from splatters, so I'll be returning them.
