Read More I used this sock for a mid-fall backpacking trip. They fit well and are great for shoes but I wouldnt recommend them for boots. I havnt worn them since but I dont know how much longer they will last considering how thin they are. They are very light and cool. It was a little too cold of a sock for the temp i was in but thats my fault. I look foward to wearing them in the heat I think they will perform well. -

Read More I'm trying to transition my activewear wardrobe to all wool products rather than synthetics and have been looking for a good basic sock like this for ages (I already own thicker REI brand wool socks which I love, especially during the colder months). I bought one pair to try them out and went back and bought six more pairs two days later. These are amazing! I was skeptical about them at first because they felt a bit stiff to the touch and not very soft in their packaging when I was checking them out at the store, but wearing them later on was just heavenly. These are so comfortable and fit perfectly (I'm a women's 6 and wear the size small, they're just right). I actually forgot for a while that I was wearing these socks at all, and they exhibit merino's qualities wonderfully. While wearing them indoors, I had to keep peeling off and piling on layers as the furnace kicked on and off, but I never had an issue with my feet being too hot (which would often happen with my thicker REI wool socks) or too cold (which would always happen with non-merino socks), they always felt just right. I haven't used these socks for hiking because I need a quarter rise with my boots- I'm actually planning on going back to REI and getting the quarter rise version of this sock for that purpose, because I really like this ultralight weight much more than my thicker ones. I've been wearing these daily with casual boots, my running shoes (Brooks minimalist/barefoot) and even while running errands on my bike. They've been perfect in each and every situation.
Read More These socks solved my too-hot-feet problem! I bought three pairs of these socks on an impulse, wore them, and promptly bought six more pairs. These are now my daily sock. I was suffering from my feet being too warm all the time. I was wearing socks that could probably be described as lightweight cotton blend hiking socks, and my feet would get too hot inside shoes. As a result, I would get to work, kick off my shoes, and either go barefoot or change into Birkenstocks at work. These socks changed all that. These socks are thinner than cotton blend socks, and as a result, are probably less of an insulator. They also probably allow more air circulation. What the physical reason, the result for me has been comfortable shoes and more professional appearance. Over the last several years, I have transitioned my active wear to made in USA wool garments. Comfort is everything.
