After looking at several jackets with actual down as the insulating material (Mountain Hardware, Patagonia, NorthFace, etc.), I settled on this jacket. Although pricey, it is extremely lightweight and doesn't make me look like the Sta-puff marshmallow man. It is very warm and appears to be well built. I like that this model has a hood. The only con I have thus far is the zipper assembly seems to be a little too small (light duty) for the jacket and what the jacket is intended to to and be worn for. The size did run small so instead of an XL I purchased an XXL and it fits great. I am 6'-2" and 220 lbs and this jacket fits me well. If the zipper had been a little more "heavy-duty" I would have given this jacket five stars.

This is the best jacket I ever had! It is technical and it's super nice looking. Supper light weight, fits under even fitted soft shell and don't get bulky, Chen fit base and mid layer under, it's is not wind proof but it holds wind actually very well, very smart piece. Wearing it in town is like asking for compliments all day. Very happy with everything about it. Not sure why people write about its loosing down, but it is a very few at the first or second use. It cost a lot of money but definitely worth every penny! It keeps you warm in cold temperatures but somehow it doesn't get hot even wearing it inside a car or home. It seems like it always just keeps your buddy temperature. i have tryied the other jackets and have done a week research, it was a right choice, for sure. Look no further!

Beautiful coat. Well constructed, very light weight and moves well with your body. For winter cycling it is tight across the back and shoulders as the fit is rather tailored slim figure style and less accommodating for positions typical to cycling, so if you are a bit softer, a larger size would be better for any sort of performance. This coat has been great for winter hiking with my 30 pound son on my shoulders and snowshoeing, and it is pretty good for ten degree style cycling. Ooh, great fit on the hood as well.

I normally wear a size medium in most jackets, being 5'6", with 41" chest. Although, I normally wear medium, I personally settled on a large of this particular jacket because it just felt better to me and is giving me more options to wear with other quality clothing. It was this year's model in the "Admiral" color. When I tried it on, it seemed to be a size medium and fit me great. After trying this jacket alone with just a t-shirt underneath in cold snowy Colorado while shoveling 16" snow off my property in sub-zero evening temperatures, it was extremely light, perfectly warm and breathable. I was able to adjust the hood to fit perfectly over my head without wearing a hat. This jacket is wonderful. I can't imagine ever getting cold wearing this jacket as a mid layer as it's intended to be. Also, the larger size will allow me to fit a nice R4 or Fleece Patagonia base layer underneath, while still being short enough on me to be covered by a medium North Face Expedition Gore-Tex waterproof shell. Also, I did not find the seams letting out any down. This might be due to the fact that I don't have the need to compress the jacket as I mainly use it strictly for winter use. I use my Patagonia Down Sweater or North Face Thermoball for 3-season backpacking. The Arc'teryx will be only for the cold weather snowshoe and ice fishing trips. Will let you know how well this jacket does this winter.

Overall a great down jacket. One thing that sold me on it was the different fill that is used on the arm cuffs, underarm, and top of the shoulder. A synthetic material is used there to compensate for moisture build up. Down has some serious loft to it to keep the heat in. One thing I did notice is that on the initial couple of wears a number of down feather would come out. A bit annoying as it's like your losing money you've spent. I do have other down jackets so I know this kind of stuff does happen. So far so good.

When comparing this jacket to other down jackets, pay close attention to the fit of the sleeves. Arc'teryx does some really cool things with the way the underarms are stitched and the elbow baffles to give a nice 3d arm shape. They also get a great deal of loft out of this jacket design, so it is really warm. When trying on this jacket, pay close attention to sizing. I originally purchased a medium, but returned it for a small because the medium allowed a lot of wind up the back. This jacket has elastic in the hem, and if not sized correctly, that elastic will not block a strong draft. This jacket is cut to be a mid layer so it isn't a huge parka, but it is so warm that you would need to be in really cold conditions to use it this way. It is best used as a layer you add when standing still. The hood is really well done with the single pull adjustment. It fits just barely over a climbing helmet, but is not designed for use this way. If Arc'teryx had added a little volume to the hood, this would be a 5 star product. Overall I'm really happy with this purchase. The warmth and weight are awesome and the fit is fantastic. If the hood were slightly larger, this product would be perfect.

The Cerium LT offers a trim fit which works well for me. I have been very impressed by how warm and durable the jacket has proved for it's weight (275g or 9.7oz). It is best suited for cold, dry conditions. The placement of synthetic insulation is very thoughtful. Also, the hood cinch is unique and works well. Arc'teryx has done well with their entry into the down jacket market. The fit of this jacket compared to others in it's category was the big determinant for me (main competition being the MH's Ghostwhisperer). I found the Cerium LT offered better articulation, zippers and style. The Airetica face fabric has a great look and feel. To my surprise it recently withstood a fall into brush without any damage to the jacket. While my jacket has lost a tiny amount of down (almost exclusively around the stitching) it really doesn't surprise me. Remember to pull the down feathers back into the jacket and to keep the jacket uncompressed when not in use. I'm very content with the Cerium LT Hoody and look forward to years of warmth.
