Read More I like the lightweight design when I don't need a deep-snow gaiter. As for size, look at ankle diameter. My wife has larger calves and the SM was waaay too small. The XL fit her just fine. As well, the large is a good inch taller. The small is for really small people. Velcro closures are good, but it is a would be difficult to put these on in the snow or freezing cold. Be sure to put them on before you go out. -

Read More I have about 30 hours of extreme hiking with these gaiters now, and they'll pay for themselves just in savings of not destroying my socks on every hike. I used to come home and empty my boots out on the floor, full of twigs, leaves, dirt, and rocks, with so much dirt ground into my socks they could never be gotten clean again. I can tell you that not so much as a grain of sand has ever gotten into my new boots with these gaiters. The inside of the boots appear to be brand new and unused. I had to trim the excess length of the straps with a pair of scissors, took about a minute. I won't ever hike again without these. As silly as it sounds, it was difficult for me to figure out how to put them on the first time, a bit counter-intuitive, but once I figured it out it became easy. -

Read More Bought these a few months back so I could wear some shorter, lighter boots in the snow. Liked the idea of the shorter ones for ankle deep brush and snow instead of the knee high versions. Solid product that does what they are designed to do. Kept the snow out and managed to stay up on my lower calf without riding down too much. A little awkward to put on trying to velcro them together and get it lined up with the tight elastic. Hoping this will improve the more I use them and figure out the best way to put them on. The hook for the laces works okay but did slip off a few times from normal shoe/boot laces. Probably work better with boots that have the designated metal loop to attach them. No troubles so far with the straps and buckles but they do feel a little thin to last, time will tell. Overall pretty solid gaiters if you are looking for the low cut version. -

Read More I have used these gaiters all season. The band is very durable and works great with my keen hiking shoe. I like that they are not super tall but tall enough to keep everything out of my shoe and protect my ankle area from scrub brush and bugs. The velcro holds tight and the hook holds onto my laces with no issues. -

Read More I took these backpacking last weekend for the first time. I treated them with permithrin and wore them as tick defense. In spite of it being a banner season for ticks around here, I didn't have a single one on me all weekend. They also did a good job of keeping dust/dirt/debris out of my hiking shoes. They were pretty dirty by the time I got back to my truck, so I imagine they kept quite a bit of stuff out of my shoes. The only drawback is that I have a stocky build and I find them to be too tight around the top. I've tried leaving them open a little at the top, but I wound up just wearing them pushed down a little. -

Read More I have both these and the taller ones that go up to the knees and have no problems with either. I use these smaller ones mainly for muddy wet conditions to seal up the tops of my boots and pant legs and keep mud/rocks and water out when trekking thru unavoidable wet spots. Obviously the tall ones are best for deep snow if you do not have snow shoes, but these also work good for that as well. Just a personal preference here, but I would like to see something different than the strap/buckle style on the bottom. I havent had any issues with that system on either pair, but would like something that is completely slip on/off with very little adjustment.
Read More I love these gaiters. I wore out a pair because of using them all the time. Light enough for everyday use as well has hiking in the woods. Even keeps the boots tied when going through briars and such that find a way of grabbing your boot strings! I really like that ease at which I can put these on and take them off. The pair I had before did not wear out because of bad quality, they wore out because I used them for a very long time and everytime I went hiking. They fit well enough that during some of those unexpected stream crossings, it will keep the water from pouring in the top of the boot. You just can't stand there, just move quick and they work well.
