It's not clear to me at all why some people reviewed this negatively because it doesn't work as a "dining table" - clearly that's not what it is designed for. I used it for the camp kitchen - camp stove, cutting boards, prep, etc. and it worked perfectly. I love that it's high enough that I don't have to constantly bend over while making a meal. I also used it as a pop-up buffet table for a party at my house - again, worked perfectly. It easily sets up and breaks down with one person. Once assembled, it's ultra sturdy. it turned out to be less than a plastic folding table and stores away in 1/5 of the space. -

Read More If you have a particular need for a tall, bar-height folding table, this may fit the bill for you (Me, I plan to use it as a bar at a desert festival). If you want it as a dining table, though, it's a poor choice in many ways. I have a couple folding tables similar to the REI Camp Roll Table, and compared to them, this table is: * MUCH heavier - the frame is beefy * ironically, flimsier where it matters, in the tabletop - underneath the plastic cover, the actual table surface feels like some sort of cardboard or fiberboard. It flexes easily (especially at the edges, as the support rods don't run right at the edge), and doesn't give me much confidence. I'm worried that the ends of the slights might break or permanently bend if enough weight is put on it. (This is compared to the aluminum top of the other table, which stronger, more durable, and heat-resistant.) * the plastic surface means you probably wouldn't want to use a stove on it * significantly more complicated to assemble, with three two-piece poles that must be assembled, two of them sliding into slots in the unrolled tabletop * awkwardly shaped, really too narrow for people to sit facing each other, * more gaudy, with a dangling fringe around the sides whose main purpose seems to be to sport a big "Alps Mountaineering" logo, and * impossible to sit at, thanks to the big accordion frame underneath. (the REI Camp Roll Table has an accordion frame too, but it doesn't extend nearly as far down from the tabletop.) Advantages: * The frame does seem very beefy. (Too bad it's in service of a flimsy tabletop). * the wide stance of the legs, the broad geometry of the accordion folding mechanism, and the wide flexible feet, plus the weight, mean this should be very stable once set up, even at the tall height. * The carry sack is reasonably well built, with a zipper and a long strap for carrying over the shoulder. * The choice of heights I haven't been on a guided raft trip, so I don't know how these tall narrow tables fit into the culture. If a tall narrow table is what you need, this may fit the bill as well as any. I don't regret buying it (at REI's half-off price), but that's because I do have a particular application in mind for it. for the average camper, though, it's probably not an appropriate choice. If the roll-up tabletop was made of aluminum slats rather than plastic-wrapped particle board (?), this table would be bulkier, but more trustworthy and versatile. A middle height choice (maybe just a matter of 4 more holes?) would also be potentially useful, especially for cooking. -

Read More I was so excited when I came across this table in the outlet! I've been looking for something similar to the tall narrow tables used by guides when I go river rafting with an outfitter, but the commercial version is way too spendy for personal use. It was easy to set up right out of the box, if you've ever used an easy-up, you'll be able to do this easily. It's great for car camping, and a luxury item for rafting if there is room. It's heavy, and at it's highest setting, tall. Like really tall. Like sidle up to the bar and order a drink tall. At the lower setting it's standard camp table height, it would be nice to have something in the middle like a counter height, but I'm tall and most of my friends are tall; it's not enough to consider not buying it. Overall, I'm thrilled to add this to my camp kitchen setup, I love to cook for large groups when camping and this will be perfect for serving and a dish washing station. And the next time I'm throwing a large party in my backyard, it will be perfect as the bar! (Ideally I would give it 4.5-4.75 stars , because of the disparity between the height settings, but unable to split stars, I went with 5!)

Read More This was a good table for putting stuff on when I grilled sausages for 30 people. It is a good height, and about the right size. The only minus is that the top is a sort of rolly thing, which was not as stiff as I would like. However, it does make the table more portable, as it rolls up for carrying in a bag. A nice feature is the adjustable height, which can go from pretty low (maybe 18"), up to surprisingly high (40" or so).
