Read More After another awful night on this pillow I had to write a review. It is super light and compact but it just plain SUCKS in its role as a pillow. Every time I lay my head on it, the pillow material is so slippery that it squirts out from under my head, most of the time dislodging the hat I'm wearing for warmth. The only way to keep it in place is to hold it with an arm, which means I have an arm outside my sleeping bag in cold weather. Don't go there, people! -

Read More I had abstained from buying an air inflated pillow as I'm fairly picky on pillow feel and support. I struggle with jaw clenching and tension headaches, etc... Air just doesn't give me what I need to keep relaxed. That all said, this pillow was quite soft, very light and seemed like it might just have the balance I'd need. I usually resort to a puffy/down jacket when I have one and it's never quite enough support. This pillow manages to find a nice balance of warmth, softness, and adjustable air inflation. I did find that you can end up wobbling a bit as reported elsewhere, but after tinkering with the air level (maybe 40-60% range), I also felt like I could stabilize myself on it and have better support than lumpy clothing. It's also very soft and warm if you like to sleep outside of the mummy hood down into cooler temps (which I tend to do now). -

Read More I like it. Bought one for everyone in my family. Lightweight. Packs small for backpacking or international travel (about 5"x4" in its bag). Medium size is more than enough. Beats stinky pillows in tropical areas. Best if partially inflated with the soft side on your face. It is a little slippery, so if not in a mummy bag, I wrap a shirt around it. -

Luxury camping:). Also, I lost the pillow cover and called the company to see about buying a replacement. They answered my inquiry within a day and sent me 2 replacements at no charge. Great customer service! I'll buy more Cocoon products in the future, for sure. -

Read More I bought this pillow two years ago because of its light weight and small size, and I have regretted that purchase ever since. After one last night of giving up and using my pack top as a pillow, I decided to stop punishing myself and look elsewhere. Fully inflated it's like resting your head on a balloon. A very hard balloon. Less inflation and your head wobbles all around. Nylon-side up gives you cheek sweats. If you use the pillow soft-side up, it will stay anywhere but underneath your head. You'll end up playing pillow whack-a-mole as it scoots away on its slippery nylon underbelly. Bottom line, if you're thinking about buying this little guy, think again. -

Read More I took this on a AT section hike and also used it for several overnights using it for a total of 7 or 8 nights. The worst problem I found is that my head would wobble from side to side unless I held my head perfectly in the middle. So needless to say, didn't work for me. Others seem to really like it. The best part of REI is that you get to return products no questions asked if it doesn't work for you. -

Read More I've used this little inflatable pillow 1-2 times each month for over a year now and it works exactly as advertised. First, it's the most compact camp pillow I've found. It will literally nest in my camp coffee cup. It's so small, that I've misplaced it a couple times. Very lightweight as well. Inflating this is super easy. A few full breaths and you're there. The flocked side is soft and quiet against the face and the smooth side is cool for warm nights. The curved shape on one edge fits perfectly in my mummy bag, keeping the pillow in place through the night. I personally don't inflate it all the way, so it's softer and stays planted easier, but you can fill it up if you prefer a firmer head rest. Unlike other inflatables, I don't find this one real noisy. The smooth side does rustle a little if you move, but unless you're a very light sleeper, it won't wake you up. My recommendation: Don't move when you sleep... Overall, I highly recommend this product...
Read More I got my Thermarest Pillow nabbed by the raccoon that shares a tent with me. I personally recommend this pillow because you can adjust how firm you want it to be, it packs up small and it's lightweight. I sleep with the soft side up and had no problems with it moving around. I start my slumber on my side and wake up sleeping on my back. All in all it's a good pillow for backpacking.
