Rated 3 out of 5 by from Simple w/ the right price This bag does the job. Carries my rope and offers plenty of room for a much larger rope if needed. (I have a 65 meter rope) The zipper is heavy duty and works well. The ground cover is plenty big. I'm not a fan of the carrying aspect (sling style), due to it swinging around the front of me when I'm climbing up to set up a top rope, but that is the nature of the sling, I didn't expect anything different. Again, as stated before, it's a simple bag with the right price point. Thanks REI.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Simple and useful This is a great rope bag for the price. I first bought it mainly because I needed a tarp to flake my rope out onto when I belay. Instead of just getting some cheap 3 mil plastic from a hardware store I decided for this so i could add in a protection factor when I carry it around. It has served me very well so far. It generaly has enough room to put both a 60m rope and a gear rack for sport leading (belay device, quick draws, etc...)into. However it would be a little small if you had to include trad gear or gear for a natural top anchor. I mainly use it for going climbing with freinds on either a single pitch sport climb or a simple slingshot both of wich have a fairly short approach (its kinda awkward to carry with that single strap). For this purpose this bag provides more than ample room. If you were thinking of trad or multi-pitch climbs or had one heck or an approach you may want to consider a bigger bag or something that is more of a backpack. Bottom line if your a weekend warrior then this is the way to go.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple and sturdy Fits my 70m 10.2mm rope, a 30' cordellette, a 15' cordellette, and nine QDs. Simple to use, big tarp, makes it easy to flake the rope, roll it up, dump it onto the tarp at the next spot, and climb.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Needs Daisy Chains Great Bag overall I can fit a 70m rope, helmet, 9 draws, and PAS all with some room to spare but with its bulk and some of the more extended trips I do this bag really needs daisy chains along the sides running vertically as the zipper runs. This will make lashing the bag to my pack much more stable. I ended up sewing some on and it works great but this should have been considered in the design.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Large Tarp I have the original Dirtbag rope bag and the new Dirtbag is an improvement. The tarp is the same size as the Rope Master and BD's Super Chute but much cheaper. The tarp rolls up easily and stuffs into the carry sack with little effort. Well worth the purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great bag. Very good for the coat value. Has a good attached lay out tarp to flake your rope on. Easy to roll up and store away once you're done. Nice to have to 2 places to tie your rope ends off in the bags / tarp area. Has a good place to hang your or place extra carabiners on an external loop. Does everything I need it to, which is store my rope conveniently and easily.
