    Poor GPS Connectivity
A great watch for the price, aside from the fact that about 1 in 4 runs, it takes the GPS approx 20 minutes to connect. I plan on returning

The watch has major issues picking satellites. It takes as long as 45 minutes to grab a signal. One of every four runs had to begin without GPS. At times it will stay for over half an hour in the acquiring satellites screen with no option of doing anything. Coup de grace for returning it was a half marathon in Central Park (cannot think on a more open area in Manhattan), watch did not secure GPS signal until half way of the run (over an hour). I returned it to the store. Keep away from this model especially if you are in NYC.

Loved the simplicity, accurately, and ability to track and map results online. However after 20 runs and 3 months, while driving all of a sudded it was on my lap due to the wristband breaking at the contact pins. REI of course was awesome to refund however won't buy this model again due to this. So fustrating, wanted to keep this Garmin as really enjoyed the product during its 20 hours of use.

I finally decided to upgrade from my Garmin 305 and picked the 10. I've had it for a few weeks and used it for both running and hiking. It worked great for both. Easy to use both during and after the workout. Switching between screens (pace to calories, etc) was quick and painless. Also works with Garmin's Connect, which I've used with my 305. It's less bulky than some of the other choices and feels just like a regular watch. I'm sure could be cycling as well but I'm sticking to the 305 for that. Overall, great product for a relatively low price.

I used this at the beginning of a 13 hour run and kept it since. It was really easy to set up and keep track of while the battery lasted (4 or 5 hours). When I went back and checked the mileage based on my route, the watch matched up almost exactly. I like the simple-nature of what it tells you, and how easy it was to set up.

I am a beginning runner who's been a runner on and off for years. This time, I'm a little older, and could use some more tools and gadgets to help me in my quest to be a runner. This thing is perfect for my needs. The main thing I love about it is the auto pause feature. This is because I run with my dog. Before I got this thing, all I could do was map out a run with a known distance, and then run it, and sort of guess at how long the various stops the dog made slowed down my time (she has to sniff stuff and stop to take care of business and that sort of thing). With the Garmin on auto pause, I get to know exactly how long I was actually running, and the distance, which is great. Works great if you were somewhere where there were a lot of traffic lights to stop at also. I got the mens' one even though I'm a woman because I have big wrists, and this thing fits fine and is comfortable, not too large. It takes a minute for the satellite to "get my location," but so far I've taken it on a bunch of different runs and hikes and walks and the date seems very consistent and accurate. I love that I can just upload it all to my computer and it shows me all kinds of data. The only feature I wish it had was the ability to change the run settings during a run. I turn the auto pause off when I'm hiking because it's less important and I stop more often to rest, etc. But then when I go running, sometimes I forget to turn the auto pause back on, and so far as I can tell, you can't turn it off once you start a run, you have to stop the run and start a new one. But that's also just a thing I'll have to get used to. It doesn't have heart rate monitors, gait analysis, or anything fancy, but for me, this thing is absolutely perfect. I love it and it has made my beginner running even more fun. Oh and it tracks your PRs for you! For the price, you can't beat this thing.

This watch acquires a GPS signal fairly quickly, not much slower than $300+ Garmins. It tells me how fast I'm going on land and in the water, and that's all I really needed out of it. However, the build quality is its weakest point. My main use for this is to record and upload my runs and rides to Strava or RideWithGPS. Also to keep track of my mile pace during runs, and to record unique hikes that aren't well documented online. Features - decent feature set for the price. I mostly use Time/Pace and Distance/Speed modes. Design issues - wristband has broken on me three times (once on the first watch, twice on the replacement). The back of the watch could be smoother and more ergonomic - it protrudes awkwardly instead of rounding off to match the curve of your wrist. Battery - last about 4-5 hours. So I tend to use it for running, or recording shorter "extreme" hikes. But for any long distance riding or all day hikes, forget about it, it'll die during your workout. I am reluctantly recommending as a good entry-level watch to anyone getting serious with their training, but only if they extremely careful with this fragile watch.
