After lots of research the Osprey Raven 14 was the best choice for my type of hiking and for the price. I have had my bag now for over three months and I will say that it is the best bag that I have ever had! Not only do I wear it for hiking I also wear it when I paddle board. This bag fits great, is light weight, and perfect to carry all my things especially water since you need to stay well hydrated when living in a tropical climate. I highly recommend this bag to anyone looking for a good day pack. -

When cycling, the back came up too far and my helmet wouldn't allow me to look up at all, I basically cycled 14 miles home from work barely looking up glancing in front of me here and there. -

Read More I bought this pack because I was looking for a smaller pack to take on bike rides and shorter day trips with my 5 yr old to the zoo & around town that would be both practical & durable. I love the features of this pack, the quality of it, the Osprey warranty it comes with, everything. I think it looks great & the moment I tried it on I was SOLD by how comfortable it was. The top pocket is great for quick access to things like Sunglasses & cameras & the inside pocket is big enough for snacks, an extra change of clothes if we need them, first aid trail kit, and a couple of extra items or Magazines if we have to wait somewhere. The tool pouch at the bottom also REALLY comes in handy & we've even used it to double as a makeup kit a time or two. Nice touch Osprey! The only thing I haven't used on a trip yet is the bladder. We take it out & bring our own bottles but I like that I have it if we need it & it's solid, I filled it up, no leaks & easy to clean. This was my first Osprey pack & I liked it so much I bought the Mira 28 for our longer day trips/hikes and I'm planning on getting the Ariel 55 for our backpacking trips. (I'm also getting the Raptor 14, the men's version for my brother as a new dad's gift to use when he bikes with his boys) Great product.
Read More I like a lot of the features of this pack. The zippered sleeve for the hose is an excellent feature. At first I thought it was strange, but it's much better than having to leave the bladder compartment partially unzipped to accommodate the hose. It's also better than trying to weave the hose into a hole in the pack everything you need to refill the bladder. I don't use the tool bag, so that leaves me a little more room. I like the pockets on the belt and the magnetic clip for the mouth piece. I don't use the helmet clip, but it's great for clipping other things on if I need it. What makes this pack "almost" perfect is the ridiculous cap on the bladder. For one thing, the cap is way too big for turning. If it were smaller, you'd be better able to get more torque when tightening and loosening the cap. Also, there's a plastic piece that holds the cap onto the bladder. It has never been very flexible, which forces me to hold the cap back while filling the bladder. Sometimes it snaps back and water pours out onto the bladder. I don't know about you, but I can stand water in my pack. That same little piece also prevents me from tightening and loosening the cap because it is connected to the cap via a ring that circumvents the cap itself. This ring refuses to turn independently from the cap, which makes the cap very difficult to turn, especially with the aforementioned size of the cap making it difficult to get any good torque. This is a very good pack, but trying to get the cap back onto a completely full bladder is a real pain. I hope Osprey is able to tweak future versions in order to make this pack perfect.
