Feb 5, 2016Great Pack!

Jan 9, 2016I love this packIt's exactly what I need for mtn. biking. It holds plenty of water, a first aid kit, a snack; my phone, and keys. It's not bulky. It's well made. The purple is a great color.

Read More I have strongly mixed opinions about this pack. On the one hand I love supporting a local CO company, and I love the little side pockets. In theory, I also love the magnet, except the magnet never works so I have to tuck the water hose in to the straps and well, that never works! I "think" they cut the tube too short, so it tugs when I'm riding and pops the magnet loose. Also, the little straps that are sewn down ALWAYS get caught on stuff, especially my saddle when I have to carry my bike up and down technical staircases - as in today at Walker Ranch, sometimes this nearly causes me to fall if I am not expecting the bike to be hooked to my pack. Also, the bladder does not seal so it often leaks, and also it is pointless to hold it upside down and draw the air out to eliminate the sloshing that happens when there is air in the bladder. SUPER ANNOYING. I do love the little tool pouch though, and the pack is comfy. Probably as good a pack as you'll find, even though it has a handful of design flaws. -

Read More I'm a bike commuter, hiker, and a picky technical pack junkie. I went through a lot of large and small brands with more expensive and less expensive models before finding this Holy Grail in the last place expected. I'm 5'5" dress size 6 with a short torso and wide hips. I bought this bag to carry both biz casual clothes AND grad school items around the city. The hydration pack comes out and the rigid section holds my 11" MacBook perfectly. The front holds my change of clothes for work (not shoes), lunch, and computer charger. That section has some organization pockets that I use for toiletries to freshen up. The small top pocket holds my wallet and smaller items. The handy tool roll that's included on the bottom has pockets for my bike tools (multitool, 2 spares, an extra lever and a patch kit). The hip pockets hold keys and metro passes. I put my U-lock and cable in the stretchy front pocket, and the LidLock lets my hands be free when off the bike. It holds a lot of stuff for such a small bag! It's also great for hiking and mountain biking -- just swap out commuting stuff for the hydration pack, snacks, and some layers! My 2 gripes of this bag: 1) it fits a little awkwardly for my short torso and I wish it had the adjustable torso that so many other Osprey packs have and 2) I wish it had the cell phone pouch on the shoulder strap that the Tempest has. Even when hiking/mountain biking, it's nice to have quick access to the camera/phone for epic photos. -

Read More I do a lot of hiking with my dogs. It took me a long time to finally break down and buy one of these, and I'm so glad that I chose this one! This pack allows me to carry just what I need, and a little more. Even when it's full of water, and packed with all the extras that I (don't) need, it's not too heavy, and it's surprisingly comfortable! -

Read More I got myself a raptor 14 which i absolutely love. I wanted to get my girlfriend the best pack as well. at our store they didn't carry the raven 14 (women's version of raptor 14) so we decided the this one will work. this one is a bit smaller and a little lower profile but keeps the huge water bladder. kinda miss the 2nd large pocket but is still good. Will probably will work for other stuff like our runs better than mine will. I would pay 10 more dollars for the raven 14 but this one is still very close. very high quality.
Read More My husband and I got Osprey hydration packs at REI for use while XC skiing in Central Oregon. The salesman explained and showed us the differences between Osprey and another major brand. As a result, we were sold on Osprey. We both planned to purchase the unisex version. The salesman then suggested that I try on the women's model. I did, thinking to myself that there would likely be only an insignificant difference. Boy (pardon the pun!) was I wrong! The ladies version was way more comfortable on my back. Further, the two straps across the front (chest and hip level) are designed to accommodate the female body, unlike the unisex model. We've skied several times with our fully loaded packs, and I literally forget I have it on, because it's that comfortable! I also love the easy access to water. I don't have to stop to get a drink or take off a glove, etc. The water itself tastes clean and fresh also. The packs have an efficient array of compartments with high quality pulls to open. This will also be an awesome day pack for hikes. I highly recommend this lightweight and high quality pack. I know I'll use mine for many years.
