Read More Let's start with what I think could be a little better, as it is a very short list! The hip belt could have just a little more meat to it, but even as it stands it's still quite functional and isn't uncomfortable. Also, the little helmet holder tab could have just a little bit longer bit of shock cord, to make it easier to attach a helmet to. Overall this bag is just great. It seems a great deal of thought went into this thing, and I'll try to cover it succinctly. this bag sits quite well on the back, and even with some aggressive riding, it stays put. The sternum strap is placed quite well and is easy to cinch up and loosen, and the shoulder straps don't cut in to the shoulders a bit. The four compression straps snug everything in and are easy to adjust, also adding to the stability of the bag. The zippers are easy to grip and use, and the water hose is actually zipped in, making it a quick task to pull out the bladder. The Bladder has a stiff backing making it quite simple to work with, unlike the traditional Camel Bak style bladder. The tool bag just rocks! I've loaded this thing up, and still managed to put it back in the bag, and I have a ton of tools in there, including a Leatherman Wave! The other cool thing about the tool bag is the simplicity of pulling it all out and using the bag sans tools! There is also a drawstring that helps secure the tools. The main compartment has loops that make storing your pump a breeze, and a spare tube seems to tuck in neatly at the very bottom, behind the tools. The mesh pocket is a great place to put your maps, and the rest can be fill with food and heavier items. The top zippered pocket is roomy enough to put even the monster sized phones into and still have plenty of room! It has a bumpy textile that is supposed to not scratch, though I can't attest to this. The two outer pockets are great for lighter articles like clothing, especially as they only buckle. Lastly, the small pockets on the hip belt are a sweet place to hold smaller items, so you can get to them quickly. I really like the ventilation on this, as it's meshed and contoured with a foam to facilitate breathing. It works quite well, in my opinion. The bite valve works seamlessly, and the magnetic clip for the sternum strap is sweet, though I suggest cutting down the tube a bit, so that it is easier to connect while you're hauling mail down the trails! This bag just rocks! I am about 6'1" with an average torso and I have no issues with it. It so comfortable, I feel like I don't have a bag on my back, and it truly stays put. The fabric seems very durable, and I have had no issues with it tearing as I'm bushwhacking or just throwing it around. I am truly impressed with the apparent thought Osprey put in to this bag, and I am looking at other bags of theirs to replace other old and worn equipment. I recommend this bag whole heartedly. -

Read More I love this little day pack. It's comfy and has all the features I love about the Osprey packs. Hydration pack is full size 3-liter which I interchange with my large Atmos 65. It has the magnet holder for the water tube on the chest strap which is nice. Plenty of pockets, nice fit. There's gear loop on the top right above the logo. It's good for strapping on a bike helmet, dog bowl, or whatever has a loop or hook. Side pockets are roomy. I take a full water bladder and a collapsible water bowl for my dogs. Plenty of water for all of us. the bottom has a nice gear compartment and a separate bag for whatever you need to stow. Also I like the small pocket on top. I keep my phone, wallet and keys there for easy access. -

Read More I recently bought this bag for day hiking, mountain biking, and obstacle course racing. Works great things I really like about it. 1 when empty it compresses very small 2 best hydration system I've ever used 3 easy to adjust and put on and off when extremely muddy 4 tough material 5 lots of pockets to organize Some of the bad. 1 not very stream line to the body 2 heavy in comparison to other bags. I started out with a camel bak, thinking I would like that better. I was wrong! The hydration system is better and the bag materials are stronger. With the bladder being easier to remove on the osprey then any camel bak I've used. I ran a 10k OCR in 90 degree weather. My back never felt hot, the straps didn't rub me raw in any place. The pack didn't bounce around and was very comfortable through out the whole race. It did get hung up on a few obstacles that I had to crawl under, after getting hung up once the fix for that problem was to take the bag and throw it to the end of the obstacles. After 10k and a few good throws that bag just shrugged it off. Nothing broke, ripped, or got torn just got very muddy. Love this bag and been converted to the gospel of osprey. -

Read More This pack has exceeded all expectations. I am an avid hiker who has used a North Face hip pack since having back surgery 15 years ago. I was looking for an option to carry more water on extended day hikes, and selected the Raptor 14, even though it was advertised as a cycling pack. It is extremely light weight, and still carries the majority of the weight on my hips with the easily adjustable hip belt. The 3 liter hydration system is phenomenal, especially with the rigid bladder that is easy to remove and refill. The magnet on the chest strap is brilliant for holding the valve in easy access. While the lower section of the pack was originally designed for bike tools, I use it to store my emergency supplies (fire starter, rope, flashlight, etc.) that are essential to carry but hopefully not needed often. The various stretch pockets and dividers are great for stuffing hats and other clothing as the weather changes. I have been pleasantly surprised that the Raptor’s narrow, body hugging design has been much more stable than the wider hip pack. This aspect has been extremely valuable both while bushwhacking regions of the Black Mountains of NC, and while ascending Angels’ Landing in Zion. It is an outstanding pack that I would recommend to any serious hiker. -

Read More It's lightweight, comfortable, the hydration pack takes little to no suction to get water, and it's well balanced. There are only two things that prevent it from getting 5 stars. It doesn't have a built in rain-cover like some other Osprey packs, and it doesn't have very good ventilation for the back, compared to all the newer packs. However, most of the newer ventilation systems aren't that durable, so I prefer sweat over a broken pack. -

Read More Purchased this for mountain biking. Was looking for something that could fit the essentials (tools, spare tube, water, bars, etc.) and was comfortable. Overall very happy with the pack. The tool compartment is handy keeping those items separate from everything else. With the bladder full there isn't a lot of room but I could stuff a light fleece or comparable if necessary. Overall satisfied. -

Read More After reading multiple reviews on here and on a Mountain bike forum I decided to go with this pack over a similar Camelbak, and I'm glad I did. This pack was well thought out when they designed it. I especially like the separate tool pouch and that it's zipper can be secured with a clip. The pack wears very light and I forget it's on while on a ride. I was concerned that the bite valve wouldn't flow as well as a Camelbak's, but it does, and actually seems like it is easier to drink from, plus the magnetic holder makes for quickly getting to it or putting it back without having to take my eyes off the trail. The back panel is well vented and stays cool, even on hot Texas days, while putting space between my body and the hydration bladder, so that the water stays cool.
Read More Well thought out, practical design. Ventilation for your back on hot days was the selling point for me but there are many, many more great features including an easy way to remove the hydration bladder from the bag.
