May 12, 2015Gaiters too smallI bought men's large-XL for my size 13 narrow boots. They are much too small - the velcro barely catches. Hopeless.

Read More These worked well on a 26 mile day hike using hiking shoes. However on a 250 mile hike I had problems with them fitting over my hiking boots. I could never get them to wrap securely around the boot, maybe it was just me. They kept coming loose and falling off. Eventually I lost one shortly after I had put it back on and I wasn't hiking on overgrown trail. I did like the adjustable plastic sole strap and think it would be more durable than the old style strap but that is a moot point if the gaiters fall off first. -

Read More Good height for going through wet grass but doesn't work well going through wet brush. Pants get wet above gaiters and transfers on to tops of socks and wicks into your boots. 3" taller would deserve a higher rating. Fairly quiet going through the brush and nice and light. Helps to keep feet dry by protecting top of socks from water. Also provides ankle protection from brush when wearing low boots and shoes. -
Aug 3, 2013Great gaitersEasy to put-on, super adjustable, and great at keeping out dirt and debris.
Read More After a year of using the OR Wrapid Gaiter with over 500 miles of hiking, I can honestly say I dislike the design with a passion. First, closing the gaiter never closed reliably, and I had numerous times when I had to backtrack to retrieve a gaiter ripped off on an overgrown trail. Second, closing the gaiter in such a manner as to avoid the "prickly" side of the hook & loop closure (aka: Velcro) from digging into my shin was difficult. Finally, I found the fabric didn't breath well. The obnoxious yellow OR logo can be easily muted with a permanent marker. To increase the life of the arch strap, I covered it with tubular webbing. At the end of the ~500 miles of hiking, there has been little wear on the strap, and it proved much better performing than the 3mm cord I have used in the past. I used these gaiters with Salomon Synapse trail shoes on hikes in the Colorado Rockies and Swiss Alps. Having finally lost a gaiter on a long weekend hike, I will likely be returning to the OR Low Gaiter and will use tubular webbing across the arch strap to increase the life of the now attached strap. I do not recommend this product.
