Read More If you own a Bio lite stove and you don't have this grill attachment you are missing out. When I first got it I went outside and grabbed a bunch of random twigs and small branches from under a evergreen tree. The chicken I made had a pinecone flavor to it. So the next time I used it I grabbed the apple wood chips I had next to my BBQ. That was fantastic. So since then I only use bagged wood chips from the store. Mesquite and Hickory for burgers and steaks. Alder for Salmon and Cherry or Apple for chicken. I use it in place of my home BBQ when it is just my wife and myself. though I have cooked for up to 6 people on it and everybody is amazed at the flavor of the meat. I took it with us when we went to Hawaii and I was able to make a steak dinner with roasted red potatoes and asparagus that had our neighbors jealous who were smelling what was being grilled. I have disrupted campsites of other people as they come over to investigate where the incredible smells are coming from. Par boil your potatoes first and season your steaks or chicken. olive oil your veggies and season. Start your stove and get your grill up to temp. Meat will be done in a few hand full of chips in the hopper. Let them rest and throw on your potatoes grill them till they brown and then throw on your veggies. In no time flat you will have a meal that surpasses anything remotely reminding you of normal camp food. And the real secret is.. The wood chips you use. -
Mar 26, 2015Excellent by any standardThis grill works great. Start your Biolite full to the top with BBQ pellets for consistent heat. Throw in a grill mat cut to fit and you have an instant flat grill! Absolutely worth it.

Read More I purchase grill at same time I got my BioLite Stove. I just used around the house to test and use 2 slice of bacon. Grill has slated open drop to the hole so any grease the drop from the grill with slide down. That means it will be burned clean. Flap it easy to open and you can stick little longer than stove height so that makes easy to add more twigs. Cleaning was relatively easy. SOS help to clean up grill and rest. This grill is three part and easy to clean all surface you want. Well build and easy to clean It is not the most portable items to carry on backpack but for car camping and backyard grilling it is perfect grill to be used. -

Read More Works perfectly. The cover DOESN'T break if you put it on and take it off correctly. Put the large top part on first, click it down and the bottom circle slides on easily without stretching. I've used it for brats, burgers hotdogs and steaks and it does them all nicely. The hottest area is 1-2 o'clock positions and gets cooler as you go around so it's perfect for cooking on one section and keeping it warm on the other side. If the grill gets too hot open the center cover and it cools off. It really is a no brainer. Biolite did their homework on this one and it's a hit. -

Read More We bought the Biolite camp stove as a safe alternative to a campfire, with small children in the camp. It is great and useful, but using anything more than just a pot or small pan is nearly impossible. We finally went in for the grill attachment, and we LOVE it! It makes the stove so useful. We can now cook a large variety of meals at the campsite. The only downside is the difficulty of clean up. It is stainless, so stuff wipes off fairly easily, but the underside of the grill rack is difficult to clean because of the shape, which I'm sure they designed for strength and minimal weight. It's a trade off that makes clean up a bit more difficult, but the product is still super useful. We would buy it again. -

Read More This is an absolutely fabulous product which greatly compliments the Biolite Stove. By adding a few inches of height to the combustion chamber of the stove it makes fuel utilization somewhat easier. It does smoke with cooking but this is not a disadvantage but a benefit. It flavors the meat wonderfully and I also add hickory, apple or mesquite smoking chips while cooking at home. It remains very fuel efficient (I was able to fully cook 6 pounds of meat with 1 - 4 foot dead branch about 1 inch in diameter). It cooks slowly enough for the fat to melt off the meat and the fat then runs down the unit into the combustion chamber adding both flavor to the meat and fuel to the fire. It gets "dirty" but doesn't really need to be cleaned. The plastic cover keeps any food waste products from getting on anything else. It you desire to cut down on weight you can replace the plastic cover with a drawstring bag (I made one from Tyvec which is lightweight, tough and waterproof). Putting a full load of fuel into the combustion chamber after you are done cooking will also combust almost all remaining cooking waste products. Control of the cooking heat is excellent but takes a little practice. The various ares of the grill have heat variations due to the distance from the combustion chamber but this also varies due to the air/flame rotation caused by the fan. The flap over the combustion chambers is easy to adjust how much heat is being distributed laterally vs. vertically and it stays put in the position you adjust it to without having to be blocked in place. Although primarily designed for grilling it is also useful for simmering food in pots placed on the grill and its construction makes it quite stable. This unit is an absolutely vital piece of a long term survival kit as well.
Read More The grill makes the BioLite worth having. The only downfall is its price. I've worked in sheet metal and could literally make the same thing for 10 dollars worth of metal. You're paying for the name, a name that to be quite frank, didn't have a great start. This company is the classic "fake it till you make it" with more lemons than successful products. Bottom line, if you have a BioLite, buy this otherwise you just have a tiny wood incinerator.
