Read More I have had 3 pairs that I use for cycling, and they are very comfortable and keep my feet cool and dry, even on very warm days. I've gone on three weeks tours with just two pairs, washing infrequently, and these socks performed great without getting smelly! I recently started using them for hiking, wearing them over REI's silk socks, and found this to be a great combination to keep my feet dry and comfortable. After two years of use as a second layer for hiking, one of the pairs has worn thin in the toes. I don't think they were designed as a hiking sock, but they did their job for two years and the extra comfort was worth it. -
Nov 15, 2013Wear them every dayI wear these socks every day for work an freetime and love how they regulate temperature. They won't smell even if you need them to wear a second day.

Read More I have owned many pairs of Smartwool hiking socks, and they've all been wonderful, so I decided to buy a pair of their cycling socks. I'm a casual cycling enthusiast--I ride about twice a week, 30 or so miles at a time. The material is wonderful, but the construction leaves much to be desired. These socks are incredibly uncomfortable in cycling shoes. The seem at the toe constantly rubs on my toes. I've fiddled with the sock stretching here and pulling there, but no matter what they're uncomfortable. It's not just in snug cycling shoes either. In more casual street shoes with more room in the toe they continue to be uncomfortable. These are going back to REI.
