    Don't waste your time or money
    I got this with a package deal and this is the worst GZ product, spend $10 and get 2-3x the power this maybe charges my phone once and is done. It also gets very hot and is big and bulky.

    Read More     I'm using the Switch 8 with the Nomad 3.5-inch solar panel. I would not recommend this for a smartphone, unless you sunshine and time allowed for charging are unlimited. The manufacturer's claims regarding charging times and capacity (supposedly recharging a smartphone in 1 hr) are vastly exaggerated. Charging the Goal Zero Switch 8 with this setup took 10 hours(!) in uninterrupted, direct sunlight in the Arizona desert. I even moved the solar panels every 30 minutes or so to point exactly to the sun. Once the Goal Zero battery is charged, it will charge an Android Galaxy S3 to about almost full capacity, but it will take close to a whole night. After being fully charged at a power outlet, the Goal Zero 8 Switch device charges my iPhone 6 Plus to about 65%, but that's it.

I had questions on why my phone did not charge and they took to explain that I should charge the batteries during the day and then use them to charge my phone. We did not have electricity in our camp, so for 15 days we charge the battery packs during the day and then our phone and tablets at night. NO way could we have made it with out our Goal Zero products.
