Read More The Vasque Mantra has everything I'm looking for in hiking shoes. I tested these out on long strenuous hikes like Cucamonga and Telegraph Peak and they did not disappoint. I did not get blisters and my feet did not hurt from trekking on rocks and uneven terrain. They provide the stability of hiking boots which is want I needed. It's so hard to find the right hiking shoes that I bought an extra pair just in case Vasque decides to discontinue or change this model. -

Read More I love these shoes. I wore them up and down and all around Buffalo river for a couple of days and it was great. Scrambling over rocks, climbing over fallen trees, these shoes are great at everything. My entire body is sore....except for my feet. They are incredibly comfy and take next to no time to break in. -

Read More I do a lot of weekend backpacking and some 5-7 day backpack trips. My husband wears the men's version of this shoe and loves it. I had a pair of Vasque Breeze which worked well for me for about a year or so. I switched to these because I wanted a low top, sturdy hiking shoe. The Mantras provided good support, a firm sole and a roomy toe box, but did not breathe well at all. REI does not carry the non waterproof version of this model. I wore the shoes on a couple of 10 mile day hikes before taking 'em out for a 30 mile weekend backpack. I got a few hot spots in the middle of the ball of my feet which felt like they were melting my mid day both days. This may be a great shoe in colder climates, but not for the AZ desert. -

Read More I recently purchased this shoe as well as a Sole insole at REI and it makes hiking a joy again after recently developing some plantar fasciitis. The fit of the shoe and the comfort/support of the Sole insole make all the difference. The shoe is sturdy and light and does not need to be broken in--it's good to go immediately. -

Read More I needed shoes for the excursions on an Alaskan cruise. Waterproof shoes were important. Also, I wanted lightweight footwear since I had to carry the luggage. These were a perfect choice---much better than the ones I purchased (and then returned) at a shoe discount store. I expect to own these for many years.
