Jan 9, 2016Vasque ScreeReturned for the Merrell Phaser, ankle was too soft for me. Very comfortable though, if you don't need a stiff ankle support.

Read More I've done about 50 miles of hiking in these now and really like them. They have a hard toe which I find a great defense against tripping. Stepped in a few puddles and a shallow creek and came out with dry feet. They come up high on the ankles too. So far so good. -

Read More I bought these boots about a year ago and have generally been very happy with them. They are comfortable, they are very supportive in the ankles, and they are firm enough to protect your feet and absorb impact without feeling like a heavy boot. I put over 750 miles on them in the last year and they are ready to be replaced. -

Read More I have been looking extensively to replace my favorite (Lowa) hiking boots that were nearly falling off my feet and disintegrating after many years of faithful service. I needed a waterproof boot for hiking, walking and short backpacking trips. After trying several boots on, these seemed to be the perfect balance between offering some support without needing to be "broken in". After several walks and a couple long hikes, I'm very satisfied with my purchase. The only problem was the laces were too long so I had to snip them off to be just right. I'm using the original foot beds for now but may replace them with Super Feet as I usually do. -

Read More I had a pair of Vasque hiking shoes before and it lasted good 7 years or so backpacking, hiking, running, locally and around the world. It finally worn out (sole peeling off) during my backpacking trip to Ethiopia (2012). So got this as replacement when I got back (2013), and I use it locally for hiking and trail running, then I went to Uganda this Oct (2014), and sole started to come off after a tough hike, only after 1+ years of use. So buyer beware. -
Oct 8, 2014Walking/HikingBought for a tour of France and have had no problem with breaking the boots in. They are very comfortable, waterproof and have excellent traction.
