Read More I bought this last week as it was the only parka in my size left at my local store - and also the cheapest! - but I was a little dubious that it would keep me warm. It sure has! Especially after moving around a little, I can actually feel *warm* after about 10 minutes in under freezing weather. The pockets are very warm as well. The huge downside is the pockets are enormous but are angled in such a way that things can fall out very easily. I lost my favorite gloves on day 3, and my favorite hat on day 5, of owning this coat - so adding that cost to the coat plus others I'm sure I'll lose is a big bummer. After losing the gloves I tried to get into the habit of zipping up the pockets when I had things in them but obviously it had not sunk in by day 5. Overall, a great coat and I am glad to have bought it! -

Read More I was a little apprehensive about purchasing this coat due to how thin it is, but I liked the idea of a coat that is more packable. We've had a colder fall than usual in Wisconsin, so I've already had the chance to try this out with temps in the teens, and it has surprisingly kept me warm! I've yet to try it out while waiting for a bus for 15 minutes in the wind and cold temps, but I feel confident that it will hold up fine. I'm giving this coat 4 stars because 1.) The pockets are deep but kind of narrow and hard to shove a bulky pair of mittens into. I almost lost my hand-knitted mittens twice before realizing that you really need to shove them in there, and 2.) The 2-way zipper is a great feature but also a pain when you're trying to get your coat on in a hurry and are struggling to line up the zipper pulls to zip up the coat. I ordered a size small and am happy with the fit. I'm about 5'6" and 135lb and am able to wear the coat comfortably even with a bulkier sweater. -

Read More Comfortable, Warm, and classy enough to wear over formal attire in the winter to nice events. I live in this jacket all winter. When the weather dips down below 10 degrees in Alaska I add another layer underneath and sometimes a waterproof shell over the top in a snow storm and with that I am toasty warm. Worth Every Penny! I am going to buy another one in another color I love it so much. It is perfect for 15 degrees and above by itself and if it gets colder just add layers. Perfect for casual winter wear. -

Read More My sister bought this jacket first and I loved it so I got one too. I am 5.5" and usually wear a Medium. I bought a Medium and it fit perfectly. I live in Northern Minnesota where the temperature often reaches 20-40 below zero. I love this jacket for going to work, running around town for errands etc. You can wear it to the mall and then shop for hours and not get all sweaty. The jacket is not bulky to its great for moving around. I love it so much I am getting another one! So is my sister! -

Read More This coat is wonderful! I lived in a part of Canada where the temps can get in to the -20s for the past two years and got this my second year there. It kept me warm down to about 10F with a couple of layers underneath. So, definitely does the job of keeping you warm. It also breathed reasonably well, so I rarely got overheated in it if I was active while wearing it or if it was warmer. It's super lightweight and doesn't take up a ton of room, so it's easy to pack when you're traveling or when you put away your winter gear for summer. Also, it's a bit fitted, so you don't get the puffy, Michelin man look that you do with so many winter coats. The coat held up well with near daily wear for a Canadian winter (so November-April) and I expect to get plenty more use out of it. I'd definitely recommend it! -
Feb 6, 2014Lite with MightI wore this coat for some snow shoveling and was extremely warm and comfortable.
Read More I ordered this coat online - looked at the measurements carefully and so I went with a Med. I can zip it but very snug in the hips. I don't have huge hips - my jeans are a size 6. This coat is made straight so if you have any curve to your figure go for larger size! I'm thinking in order to get this coat to fit over layers comfortably I'd have to go for a XL. Very disappointed this coat didn't work for me. Loved the extra hand insert with the thumb hole. Loved how lightweight and non-bulk it is. And sadly I'll have to now wait till next year's stock as all the larger sizes are sold out. :-( Recommendation wise, I'm going to mark yes even though I'm not too sure yet as I never really got to test it outside to see how warm it keeps you.
