This product is no longer available, but don't go just yet.

  • safe-T-seat offers a solid center of gravity, positioning protects against dirt, dust, rocks or water off the bike reaching child's face
  • Mounting bracket attaches to most bikes in about 2 min.; minimum of 0.75 in. of space between the headset and stem is necessary to fit the mounting bracket
  • Once the mounting bracket is installed, affixing the safe-T-seat is a quick, easy process that can be done in about 15 seconds
  • In addition, you can install extra brackets on other bikes, allowing you to quickly swap the safe-T-seat between bikes
  • Designed for children age 4 and under; minimum age is 12 mos. as the child needs to be able to sit up well and hold the weight of a helmet on his or her head
  • Maximum height of child is 44 in.; maximum weight is 38 lbs.
  • Safety shoulder straps keep child in place; padded steering wheel at front of child features a small bit of friction so they can "steer" as you ride
  • Meets British Safety Standard (BS EN 14344) which tests construction, strength and durability, attachment of seat to the cycle, restraint system, foot guarding and retention
  • The iBert safe-T-seat child carrier is also designed to meet all ASTM 1625-00 standards, which only apply to rear child carriers at this time

I bought this product about six months ago for my son just after he turned one year old. I'm glad I got it I love being able to have him in front of me instead of riding behind it's much more of a European way to do things. He enjoys the view, rings my bell and makes whooping sounds when we go down hills! He's happy putting on a helmet now and he gets excited when we're going to go out riding. I've had it on the street and the smoother trails in my area and it steers and feels well balanced. My only critiques on the product are that the mounting bracket and base of the chair are a little loose and wobbly, the connection is secure however. The restraint/seatbelt system is a little difficult to get adjusted correctly, but once done it holds him in.

I bought the carrier for about a month now. I must say that I am very impressed with this product. Very well thought out and made sturdy. It appears very comfortable to my daughter and she enjoys the ride. very easy to fix it. The carrier doesnot topple the center of gravity. Even with the carrier fixed there is still a good amount of space between the carrier and your seat to accomodate for you to stand and peddle if you are riding uphill. If at all I have to change one thing it would be the attachment that the carrier sits on. It would have been more stable if it had two forks and not one but it is still stable.

Fits perfect on my trek x-cal 8. Nice having my child out front, I can easily point things out and talk to her. Also believe she will learn to ride her own bike faster sitting in front watching every move we make. I removed the straps and did not install the face pad. Don't really see the need for them, just riding around the neighborhoods. Good quality, easy on/off.

My wife and I had seen some other folks in the neighborhood with this product on their bicycle and thought it was neat compared to the "rear wheel" style carriers. The iBert fits great on my wife's cruiser bicycle and our 10 month old loves riding. He is crawling, standing, and supporting himself easily so the weight of the helmet does not bother him. We feel very safe that he is in the front, can see what is going on, and we do not have to worry about him riding behind us providing commentary a la Rerun. Easy to install, feels very secure, does not interfere with riding the bicycle.

I like this seat, and it is something I definitely recommend to other people. I like that my daughter can sit so close to me and that I am able to talk to her and point things out to her. I like that my center of gravity with this seat feels normal and natural. A couple of the things I don't really like is your kids won't fit in this for very long. My daughter is 18 months old, and she will probably only fit comfortably in it for another six to 12 months. It's difficult to stand and ride uphill.

I attached the ibert seat to my K2 Zed. Total installation took about 15-20 minutes. I did have to adjust the front stem to put on the mount that holds the seat. I'd say the hardest part was installing the steering wheel to the seat. The screws are tough to get to at the bottom and did not align perfectly but I got it to work! The iBert seat did not get in the way of steering or riding the bike. My little one was definitely confused at first, he did not know if he enjoyed it or not. But he did not cry so i will take that as a win! We did buy the new version which comes with the steering wheel. He had a blast turning the steering wheel. Very excited to use this more when the weather gets better. I definitely prefer this to other traditional seats for babys behind the rider. I was able to talk to the little one the entire time and make sure he wasnt getting bored. This is recommended for minimum of 12 months. Our little one was 11 months when we first used it. He is standing, doesnt mind the helmet, and had a great time!

    Really cool, but wobbly
I really like it overall, but I wish the back was a little taller for a bit more support for my son and it was wobbly on the very first ride--after we had just tightened everything.

My daughter loves this and I'm a little disappointed this is probably the only summer we'll get to use it since I think she'll be too big (at age two and a half) to fit next year. The included, but optional to install, steering wheel is a nice touch too. There are some compromises if you have a shorter top bar. I can squeeze in between this carrier and my bike seat, but getting back up is a little tricky. Not the fault of the carrier. Also, there is a quick release coupling, but when the carrier is removed, there's still a 6-8" aluminum stake attached to the headset pointing toward you. All in all, it's been a lot of fun and I'm quite happy with the purchase
