Read More I've been a long time customer of Vasque, and when I needed to get a new pair of lighter weight hiking shoes for a trip to Great Britain, these were my choice. They were easy and comfortable to wear on the airplane, and sturdy enough to handle all the miles of moderate hikes we did around Scotland, England, and Wales. Upon returning home, these shoes continued to perform well in the summer on hikes, but also are great shoes for walking to and from the bus stop in the Northwest on our wet, wintery days. After a year and a half the treads are starting to get a little thin. I'm still trying to decide if I want to get a new pair, or just have these great old work horses re-soled.

Read More Loved this shoes from the start, they're extremely stable and comfortable. However, that's all rendered useless when, as somebody else here pointed out, the traction is terrible. It doesn't even have to be that wet or moist; even on dry surfaces, these shoes are worse than regular running shoes, and so are completely unreliable when hiking on mountains. A true shame.

Read More After trying on a number of hiking boots in the store, I was unsure of what I wanted. Until I tried these on. The second I put them on my feet I knew they were perfect. They immediately felt more ventilated than any of the others that I had tried. I wore them all over China, and they proved to be as versatile as they were comfortable, keeping my feet warm when it was cold, dry when it was raining, and cool when it was hot. Definitely worth the investment. My only complaint is that they aren't as non-slip as I would like, but then again they're meant for the outdoors. -

Read More I ordered both the Breeze 2.0 low and the Mantra 2.0 in a size 14 so I could compare the two before deciding. Unfortunately, I wasn’t satisfied with either one. The first thing I do when I pick up a shoe is put my hand inside the shoe and press the outersole in the ball of the foot area (with my other hand) to see how strong the outersole is. Right off the bat, there was a noticeable difference between the shoes. The Breeze 2.0 low seemed to have a much stronger outersole. The Mantra 2 outersole was too weak for my taste. Unfortunately, the curved last on the Breeze 2.0 did not fit my foot well (and it seemed a little smaller to me), while the straight last on the Mantra 2 seemed like a perfect fit for me. But I was concerned that the weaker outersole on the Mantra wouldn’t give me the support I needed while hiking (and if it did, that it wouldn’t last too long). If the Mantra 2 had the outersole of the Breeze 2, I would have found the perfect shoe, and been a very happy customer. Since the Mantra 2 costs the same as the Breeze 2, I don’t understand the weaker outersole. I’ve noticed a disappointing trend among hiking shoe companies regarding these weaker outersoles, and the outersole on the Mantra didn’t seem to be weaker than what you would find on a lot of low hikers on the market today. But I had hoped Vasque would have had a stronger outersole on the Mantra.

Read More I do a lot of active sports but I bought these to build a house. I wanted something leather that would hold up but also breathe some. I also wanted to be able to seal the leather up with some water proofing. I did not want or need something so water proof that I could stand in a creek with. Some other leather shoes I have had do not breath well and get uncomfortably hot. These are not the coolest but not bad either for being mostly leather. The big thing is that they have held up incredibly well for a shoe that I have been wearing every day. I see there are some other reviews that say they don't hold up. I cant believe they are talking about the same shoe. -

Read More just bought these , and in the process of lightly breaking them in for the PCT in april .. I've spent a considerable amount of time reviewing items for all aspects of this journey and these shoes are really comfortable and really seem well constructed for the money. A good shoe is so important to a long hike and these really fit the bill. I will also purchase the boot version of these for the latter part of my journey which I will again document input of the performance of this product when I get farther into my trip..rock on !
Read More I've lived an outdoor life. I've worn and worn out dozens of hikers, boots, and t-shoes. I've worn these Mantra 2.0 daily for over a year. At 215 lbs, they've taken a beating and have held up the best of all brand hiking shoes. I'll buy them again. For snow, ice, and razor-sharp rocks, check out Danner's variety of boots.
