Read More I bought this shoe to use as a hybrid water/mud/dry ground shoe in Nicaragua. I put this shoe through the paces over 10 days. Comfortable. Dried out quickly. Gave good traction in deep mud. Did not come apart in the Ocean. Only one complaint was the tongue on one of the shoes developed a crease on the inside(pict 2), which made the one shoe uncomfortable. I really had to work at it to get it back to being flat . -

Read More This shoe is being rated too high for its intended purpose. OK, they are lightweight and comfortable, but absolutely are a joke for any serious water use. This is due to the heel-tightening strap. I loved techamphib 1, which had a cinch that would hold. I used those shoes for years and years hiking in muck and in rocky rivers until finally the exterior completely eroded. The second version's cinch did not hold, but I don't like to return things on a whim and still have them for casual use. So.. I was hoping that the techamphib3 would correct that... but no... it is even worse. The cinch holds for about three steps. I would return them, but I do like these shoes for their with lightness and good ventilation and will keep them for casual use. DO NOT buy them for wet conditions, unless you are just wading in a cement pond. Salomon... .please read this and improve the cinch for version 4! -

Read More I have been looking for a shoe that dries fast and has good traction on a variety of surfaces. I spend a lot of time in the tropics hiking through muddy fields. I found that these shoes have poor traction on smooth wet surfaces. Also, they are somewhat difficult putting on and taking off. The back binding tends to loosen and is in need of continuous re-tightening.The upside: they dry fast. -

Oct 17, 2013I would by these shoes againWent water clean up on the Dan River and the shoes shed mud and water. Stayed on my feet in the muck and had good traction on wet pavement.

Read More Bought these as an experiment. Looking for a quick drying, mud & water shedding, trail running shoe for the Tough Mudder challenge. I had my doubts that these would hold up on steep, sharp rocky descents without blisters or chaffing, and give adequate traction on the quarter pike wall. However, they came through exceptionally well. The heel strap loosened initially until I realized that adequate tension was the key to its holding; once tightened down it stayed set to the next 9 miles.
