Read More I bought a pair of these about 10 years ago . I have used them several times a year when I'm mountaineering and in the snow and they have preformed well. The finish is wearing off around the nose and the foam on the ear pieces is wearing out but I have remedied that with some electrical heat shrink tubing. A side shield was lost a few trips ago and so I'm now going to have to break down and buy a replacement or fabricate something for this summers trips. Overall a great buy and good pair of glasses. -

Read More I bought this model of glacier glasses after checking out the other Julbo models primarily for the adjustable ear loops. They allowed me to customize the fit better than the other models and offered the same Spectron 4 lenses. They worked well on Mt. Rainier and offered good protection on days when we weren't in blowing snow. I would like a hard case for them as I was a bit concerned that the soft case might not protect them in my pack, however, they survived just fine. -

Read More Bought these about a year ago. Perfect for trail running on various Alaskan mountains, until first one of the plastic shield pegs broke, (tolerable) but then one of the arms just...fell out and was lost. the cap on the other arm also came off, so replacement for the two is $20. another $7 for the shield, and a new cord...and i'm looking at $34 to fix a $65 pair of sunglasses that were never dropped. Sad thing is, I liked the stylish look, adjustable arms and complete eye coverage so much I might just break down, use my discount and dividend, and just get a new pair, lol. -

Read More I bought a pair of these on sale several years ago for sailing. As more and more electronic devices on boats have LCD screens, I have found that polarized lenses are not that great on a boat. These were perfect, dark lenses, wonderful side shields, comfortable for all day wear, the yellow tint increased contrast on cloudy and hazy days (a trick I remembered from my skiing days). The only real drawbacks to these glasses are 1) the frame is plastic and breaks at the hinge too easily and 2) the rubber on the earpieces reacts with most sunscreens and over time the earpieces become sticky (no soap removes this sticky). I had these in my pocket while scrambling across some rocks and when my pocket got snagged on a rock I heard a gentle crack. When I pulled them out, they were broken at the hinge. Oh, well, time to buy a new pair. It's really too bad as the lenses were still pristine. -

Read More great glasses for the money,i finally managed to scratch these babys last summer, had these foralmost 3 years.i work at a ski area so i used them almost every day.great eye coverage.super dark!the alti-spectron kept the eyeballs happy.you could look at the sun in these things.[$] is WORTH IT for the protection.im gonna buy my second pair!
Read More Used these for hiking a fourteener in Colorado. Excellent sun protection. Gives everything a bit of a yellow tinge (actually sort of makes things look prettier...), but very high contrast. Not polarized so using a smartphone sideways while using these isn't a problem. One issue: If you don't have a prominent nose bridge, they may not actually sit on your nose. I had to buy fairly thick nosebridge pads on Amazon to make these fit properly.
