Read More I've had this pack for about a year and a half and done everything with it from all-day, multi-pitch climbs to trail running to using it as my carry-on bag. It does what it's designed for very well - quick access to all your gear while you're taking a break, and it carries just about everything you need for a day trip. It does not have a lot of extra fancy pockets to hold gear on the outside for quick access on the go, and it doesn't have a port out the top for a water bladder tube (although it does have the bladder pouch on the inside...). Overall this is an awesome minimalist pack. -

Read More I bought this pack so that I would have a day pack along on my self-supported bicycle tour. I needed something that when not in use, took up little space, but at the same time offered enough to carry a stove, provisions, and my rain jacket. This bag fits the bill nicely. Not overly water resistant, and it doesn't expand. But if you're needs are small, and you're an efficient packer, you'd be surprised how much stuff you can squeeze into it. It has no rigid back piece at all, so I roll it or fold it up to fit in the bike panniers when I'm rolling to the next adventure, and then unpack and transfer day hike adventure gear into it when I want to leave the bike behind for a spell. It does have an internal zippered pocket that is pretty deep. So far it seems to be fairly durable, and I've even used it to carry my laptop to and from work, but because of how lightweight it is, I'd be wary of throwing sharp metal objects into it. -

Read More Picked this up a few trips ago for day hikes. It's small, comfortable, and fits the basics: a hydration bladder (pack & straps are rigged for the hose), a couple of lightweight layers, lunch, and my essentials. I'm going to repeat this: 11L is a SMALL pack, so if you're concerned about capacity try it out in a store first. I haven't spent enough time with it to comment on durability but other reviewers' comments seem plausible. It's a light pack made out of light materials and if it's tossed around I can certainly see it taking wear & tear easily. -

Read More Outstanding little pack. This replaced my previous all-day laptop carrier that I had been using since grade school 15 years ago. I am a huge fan of ultralight minimalism. Most of my backpacking gear is as light as can be (within comfort margins). It doesn't get much more minimalist than this one (maybe if they cut out the hydration pack sleeve they could save another ounce. Hmm... I think I'll do just that ;) ) Since I can get paged at any time to respond to a work crisis, I like to carry my laptop around when out and about. I recently bought a new Macbook Pro and decided that the old pack was now too heavy for regular all day usage. I checked out basically every pack I could find. This was the lightest that had dimensions that may fit my MBP. After a trip down to the SF store... I happily discovered that, while a definite squeeze, my Retina Macbook Pro FITS! Not only does it fit, but it's also still super comfy on my back (Key requirement #2). A lot of packs feel like flat boards with large laptops in them, but not this one! Amazingly, this combo weighs less than my old 3 pound pack with an 11" Macbook Air! Time will tell if it holds up like my old pack did. The construction appears to be very solid. I'm going to add a 1 ounce sleeve to protect the Mac and I'll be generally good to go! Great job Black Diamond! I hope these sell well as I'd like to see more designs like this in the future. My wife's so jealous that she's buying one for her MBA. :) -

Read More Nice light low profile pack that is well constructed with one very big exception. The 'easy to remove' waist belt actually will 'easily' fall off the pack when not in use. It happened to me a couple times and I took to either removing them or clipping them together and cinching tight to avoid this which was fine, no big deal, until that one day I forgot to do this and carried it around for about an hour and yep both straps fell out and I only could find one. Big bummer. Black Diamond in the future please make them easy to remove but not self removing. In my opinion, a design flaw in terms of the pairing of the thin and slippery strap with melted and thinned end and the cinching buckle. I would wrap some tape around the end of the strap next time around.
Read More This is a great pack and I am happy with my purchase. I would recommend that you take a look at it in store before buying, this pack is minimalist, and is only 11 liters. I use this pack mainly for quick hikes. I carry a Nalgene bottle, rain shell or layer, mini first aid kit, phone, wallet, and some food. Thats about all that will fit. The back mesh panel on the pack breathes well and the pack is overall pretty comfortable. I also will mention that the hydration sleeve will fit a 10 inch tablet. The only drawback I can think of is that I wish the shoulder straps were a little longer. I am a big guy 6'2" about 225 lbs, and yes the pack fits, but barley. Over all great pack!
