Read More I just bought my third pair, not really needing to but knowing I'd want these same shoes when the current pair wears out. From the very start (maybe 4 years ago), I knew I'd found the perfect light hiker. Unusually fine support keeps me from tiring on trail or sidewalk, keeps me walking tall & free of muscle aches, lets me forget the shoes and enjoy the walking. (I'm a large 200 lb, 6'3" guy & like my shoes sturdy.) I've walked in these with and without loads, from 0 lbs on my back to 40, from day-hikes to multi-week excursions. And versatile, too! I wear them all summer in town -- for my two mile walk to work (and again back to home), hitting the pubs or coffee shops, or strolling local hiking trails in a good city park system. And I've worn them skittering up and across granite in the Bridgers north of Bozeman, out in the moister world of the Cascades, and from red earth to serious rock trails in the Nepal Himalaya. I guess I haven't encountered the kind of wet conditions some folks have mentioned in their reviews, but the wet that I have run into (including good rains on rock) has never been a problem -- no unexpected slips. And durable. I recommended them to a paleo-ecologist friend who works summer field months traversing ancient sharp lava in East Africa -- he came back smiling, says these are his first pair of trail shoes that will make it through at least one more field season. A true find & highly recommended. -

Jan 9, 2016WONDERFUL SHOESI asked for something with good arch support and they suggested these. They are the most comfortable shoe I have ever had.

Read More Honestly, with the construction of the shoe, it is very well made. And on top of that it provides great knee and lower back support. Note: this is for me personally. I finally took them out hiking and going in with no expectation, they worked out phenomenally. Even standing around (for work) 6 hours, they still provided great comfortability. The arch support works out great as well. I have a high arch and it accommodates it very well. With every step, I really fell the subtle arch support which I love. Overall great, breathable, waterproof product. Don't get me started with the nubuck leather, even the grip. Fully recommend. -
Jan 8, 2016Great shoeI usually hike with Merrel brand but I'm glad I was recommended this shoe, true to size and since I have a low arch, this brand helps big time.

Read More What a great product. I've put some serious hours and miles on these, through urban, wooded, and mountainous terrain, and they have surpassed my expectations at every step and turn. Light, snug, yet made with material that allows your feet to stretch and breathe, they really do a great job of being both incredibly comfortable and super functional. I have no complaints and nearly no end of positive things to say - highly recommended! -

Read More The most important thing I have found is these shoes have very little grip when it is wet on rocks, concrete, and asphalt. Also these shoes fit more like stiff and rigid hiking boots. I don't find them comfortable.
Read More My interest in this shoe was tweaked because it has a larger toe box and the shoe offers more lateral support at the ankle than the typical low cut hiking shoe. Additionally, because of the slightly higher lacing I believe the black toe nail injury can avoided as my foot doesn't slide forward when descending! It has a firm feel on my feet. it is a bit stiff but I believe that will moderate not to say it is uncomfortable as it's not (ie it is comfortable). I think it needs a little break in period and depending on individual preference a different insole might be preferred.... enjoy
