Jan 24, 2016Best sandals I've ownedThese shoes are the best. If you're having problems with chafing or whatever readjust the straps. I've had em for quite a bit and they're still good as new after almost daily use.

Read More I bought these to use on a kayaking trip in the Amazon, and they worked great! It took a long time to adjust the straps so they fit correctly and didn't rub my food the wrong way, but once adjusted they stayed put. I wore these things while walking through calf-deep mud and they stayed basically glued to my feet. I went on multiple ~10mi hikes in them as well, and barely noticed I was wearing sandals instead of proper hiking footwear. They are bulky and a bit heavy, but I'm pretty sure they're going to last forever. Overall I was really impressed at how incredibly functional they were, and have absolutely nothing bad to say about them (except that I still think they're kinda ugly, haha). -

Read More I purchased these as my first pair of Chaco's for my recent trip to Hawaii, hoping to use these for hiking in the warm climate. As comfortable as the sole of these shoes were, the chaffing from the straps was unbearable! After about a 30 minute walk/hike my feet were raw and blistered. The worst part is the loop around the big toe. Completely ruined my feet for the remainder of my trip, I had to wear multiple bandaids to cover my open wounds from these shoes. (this is not an exaggeration) I don't recommend these at all! -

Read More These are super durable shoes and have been on countless road trips, hikes, and even a backpacking trip to South America. I had hiking shoes as well but I ended up wearing these everyday, including a 4 day trek to Machu Picchu. If I did the trip again I probably wouldn't have brought the hiking shoes and just brought the Chacos. However if you have flat feet I'm not sure I would recommend these for you. My feet are a little on the flat side and the high arches on these did hurt my feet in the beginning. -

Read More I bought these late last summer and wore them only intermittently for a while. They were comfortable enough, but initially, I thought the footbed was too rough as it bothered the bottom of my feet. This year, however, I've practically lived in them throughout spring and summer. I have high arches and often have trouble finding sandals that give me enough support, and these fit the bill perfectly (unlike another reviewer for whom the arch support was too much). In terms of the footbed, the roughness (part of the pattern in the rubber) eventually evened out and it feels much smoother now. These are fabulous sandals...supportive and solid....and I'll get another pair whenever they go on sale. -

Read More I purchased these shoes in April and I highly recommend them. This is my first Chaco purchase and I am not disappointed. Great for hiking or just around town shopping. There are a few things you have to get used to (for me it was the toe strap and arch support), like any new shoe, but after breaking them, I can say I am very happy with my purchase. -

Read More The Chaco Yampa sandals are good shoes. It took a few days to get the straps to settle into a comfortable place, and the arch support is somewhat aggressive, but after my feet and the Yampa's found an equilibrium, well, they are very easy on and off, comfortable to walk around in all day, great for keeping solid footing on uneven terrain and they dry fast. I hope to get many many miles out of these babies.
