- Combo LED upgrade kit replaces the incandescent bulb of an AA Mini Maglite flashlight and adds a push-button on/off switch to the tail cap
- LED outputs 30 lumens; bright beam reaches up to 40m and can be focused from flood to spot
- LED uses less power than an incandescent bulb; 2 AA batteries (sold separately) provide up to 25 hrs. of use with the LED, compared to 5 hrs. with the incandescent bulb
- Push-button tail cap switch lets you turn the light on and off without having to adjust the focus of the beam
- Nite Ize LED Upgrade Combo II kit is simple to install
- Please note: installing a Nite Ize LED Upgrade kit or Tail Cap switch voids the Mag Instrument® Limited Lifetime Warranty covering the AA Mini Maglite flashlight

Read More I think this gadget is a great idea and probably works very well -- if you can get it installed. If I had managed to install the new stuff, I probably would have given it 4-5 stars. But the instructions are awful. I tried my best to follow the tiny little pictures on the tiny instructions sheet, but to no avail. When I put the bulb into the socket, I bent the pins and broke the old flashlight beyond repair. A complete waste and a complete loss. As I no longer have a flash lite to upgrade, I will not be reordering. Be very careful and gentle when installing the new parts. Don't force anything! -

Read More This is an excellent upgrade for your Mini Mag Light making it on par with expensive "tactical" flashlights. The LED bulb is bright and tail cap is simple and effective. Plus you do not have to mess with expensive CR123 batteries found in other "premium" flashlights. This is a plus for battery management and redundancy in the field. For the price, you can have an effective, bright, weatherproof and handy flashlight without breaking the bank. Let the gear chumps pay $75-$200 and use your savings toward your next adventure. -

Read More this kit is an interesting way to upgrade the old maglites with krypton bulbs to LED. I didn't use the switch as I thought it was too cumbersome. Converts the old flashlight to a decent LED light. Not quite as bright as the maglites you buy with the LED bulb already installed, but it's decent. If you have an old lite around and you want to upgrade it, this kit is a good bet. -

Read More This deserves a 5 for performance and a 2 for instructions. Once installed, it works great. Here's how to do it: - remove the existing tail cap and batteries - unscrew the lens assembly (the big end) - remove existing bulb - unscrew the lens ring on the very end where the lens is (it might be hard to do) - remove the existing reflector, replace with new one and reassemble - the new LED lamp wires insert into the same two holes as the old bulb--they are fragile, be gentle - there will be a gap between the LED disk and the flashlight--it's OK, so don't try to force it down - reinsert batteries, screw on new tail cap - Press the tail cap switch--if no light, remove LED, rotate 180 degrees and try switch again - carefully screw on lens assembly--you still use it to focus and it can still turn the light on and off, so turn it so light is on, then use tail cap switch for instant on/off -

Read More I've had a number of mini mag AA flashlights lying around the house and thought I would try the Nite Ize upgrade. I was skeptical at first, but the upgrade is stunning. I fished out two old AA batteries from my recycling box and put them into the mini mag with the standard bulb. I got a dim glow, barely able to illuminate anything. I swapped in the LED bulb and with the same batteries the light was too bright to look at directly. What these LED blubs are able to do with so little power is amazing. You do lose any real ability to focus the light, but for me the output and long battery life more than makes up for this. I'm guessing mini mag is kicking themselves for not coming up with this first. Great upgrade!
Read More I'm totally regretting on picking this up because the LED base is way too thick and unable to set the top to where I want it to be where it's only being held on by a few threads. Came so close to throwing all of the old parts away after doing the LED upgrade which there is a very good chance that I would be putting all of the old parts back in.
