I really like this and I use it a lot.. I would fill the provided water bottle and as soon as i begin walking it was leaking and water was running down the back of my shorts and leg. Annoying. I just use a different water bottle now that isn't horrible and is roughly the same size. I broke one of the tethers because I used a tall water bottle and it stretched too far.

This has above average storage space with room for cell phone and energy bar/energy gels. For nordic ski racing, leave your glove in your pole grip, slide the pack to the front and enjoy easy access to your gels. For a casual ski, the storage is large enough to carry a small camera to capture those amazing photos only available when you are out on the trail. Although I'm raving about the space, it feels just like other smaller waist pack / water bottles I've owned.

I got this hydration pack for use on my first 50K in the foothills of San Jose, CA. I tried one my sister had but found the bottle kept sliding out of the sling. This pack does incorporate a small lanyard to secure around the tip of the bottle so that it does not slide out of the sling. The storage pocket was large enough to hold 3 power bars, 5 gels, salt pills and ~1 cup of extra accelerade powder. I do not own a MP3 or Ipod but it would have fit. I have heard that it is too heavy but let's be realistic the more you put in, the heavier it will be.

I've used this a few times now and is perfect for a 2-3 hour run. The bottle is good and doesn't leak, but is a bit small for hot days. The pocket is just the right size for a wallet, phone, keys and an energy bar or two. The key hook can extend outside the pouch so you can access your car without undoing everything. The fit is very comfortable. It bounces a bit when the water bottle is full, but not enough to be troublesome. Straps stay tight. Added bonus: the straps have secure velcro loops on the end to keep them from dangling. I've attached my dog's leash through these to get a dog belt when he needs to be on-leash during the runs.

I use this little pack trail running on shorter runs in the 5-10-ish mile range. The bottle is very easy to remove and replace, I haven't had to use the shock cord loop as the bottle stays in smartly. It carries very nicely, albeit it's pretty light w/ just one bottle and a few small items. The pocket is small, but larger than it looks. I can carry a cell phone, small first aid kit, small headlamp and even get my windshirt in there. It's a great little running pack for runs where one 22 oz bottle is sufficient.

I purchased this last week for a trip to Arizona where I run the trails in a mountain park. It is one very nice piece of gear. I substituted a 24 oz. bike bottle with no problem. It was held securely in place by the elastic loop. The bottle was easy to access with a right handed reach around. The cargo pouch easily held a wallet, cell phone and car keys. It has a handy internal pocket that will secure at least one item and keep it from bouncing around. They even included a system for rolling up and securing excess belt.

I have a few fanny packs I have tried for walking, shorter day hikes, and jogging. I found this one, to be the best I have used. It's side compartment is large enough for my iphone, ID, a credit card, if needed, and keys. The internal key clip and pocket is great. I find it comfortable to wear and doesn't bounce around as I move. The bottle at a slight angle helps it from leaking. The waist belt is adjustable. Now the "cons" 1 - Any water bottle tend to leak, even those I use riding my bike. I tend to not fill it fully, to reduce leaking. I have been able to add larger bottles to the pack and they fit well too. 2 - I find as I run and really start to move, the belt opens up more. Not to bad to be a problem but with a full water bottle I do notice. This more an issue on a longer run/walk/hike that I refill the bottle again after I have gone some distance. I stop, tighten it up and it holds. I would recommend this over the others I have tried, but as in all things, go to REI, try it out. If you don't like it, their return policy is GREAT!

I really love this little waist pack. I do 1-3 hour hikes. It's well made. The pocket it large enough for my Android phone and a key. It wouldn't be good for extended hikes because there is little room for snacks. The bottle is okay, but the top leaks a bit. So I'm using my Rubbermaid bottle instead. It's necessary to secure whatever bottle you use to the elastic band that is provided on the pack to keep the bottle from falling out. I keep it secured while I'm hiking and when I need water I rotate the pack to front and take some water and re-secure the bottle and rotate the pack to the back again. I would definitely recommend it!
