I have gone through several pairs of rain pants over the years and these just aren't good pants for active hikers. The material is great. It is very waterproof and breathable. But actually using them on the trail is a huge shortcoming. There is no leg zip so they are impossible to get on over boots. If youre hiking and it starts downpouring you have to take off your boots to get these pants on. Huge design flaw. I have found myself putting these on in the morning if there is eve a slight chance or rain that day. If they had the zipper I would love them. -

Read More These pants are great for my daughters, who are long and lean, for hiking, xc-skiing, rain, etc. They are light weight, great as on outer layer, with useful pockets. One pair ripped, likely due to hard use though not worn frequently, so our experience is that they are not super strong/resiliant. That said, I'm ordering another pair because the style and fit work for us.
Read More My 3 year old wears these pants for outdoor preschool 2 days a week. They keep his underlayers nice and dry, which is great, but the inseam developed holes pretty quickly. Nothing a little duct tape on the inside couldn't fix.. These are probably not built for such frequent use.
