Read More Optically, these are very nice binoculars, with a sharp and bright image, and with no noticeable image misalignment between the two eyepieces. Their small size and light weight is great for hiking. The price is very reasonable, compared with name-brands perhaps better known for binoculars. Because of the smallish exit pupil diameter (which is probably inherent to the smallish binocular size), it is critical to get the eye-to-eye spacing matched to ones eye separation, and the object distance, in order to get full image brightness and clarity. -

Read More I love these lightweight, compact binoculars. I compared these to two FULL size binoculars that I have and they were better than the Bushnell 7X35 ($50) but not nearly as good as the Nikon 10 x 42 ($220). The Olympus 8x21 has an accessible focus wheel and easy to focus with light gloves. The image is sharp and bright. I use mainly for outdoor birding and general observation. I also used them at twilight and found them to be acceptable but not stellar in the low light situation. But for the money, these are great binoculars. -

Read More I bought these in Seattle since I was going to the Space Needle on a clear day and I wanted to see the surrounding mountains and had not brought my binocs with me. For their size, they are surprisingly crisp and the image closer than expected. I now take them on my various trips. Although not waterproof, I left them in my cooler and they were filled with water by the time I retrieved them. I was upset, but left them outside to dry and in 3 days they were ready for action! I don't suggest doing this, but life happens like that and it is good to know an investment wasn't lost. They are my most used glasses due to their smaller size, yet large viewing field...and we have seen alot!
