No Inner Briefs as Advertised

It was only after I already had these shorts that I noticed the product description indicates there to be an inner liner and even lists its fabric content. This is an error. There is no inner brief in these shorts; buyer beware. It is only because of this product description mistake that I took off one star. Otherwise, I am very pleased with these shorts. The absence of an inner liner actually strikes me as a good thing as it allows me full choice of underpinning that will best work for me. It is rare to find running shorts which provide modest coverage of the upper legs that don't end up looking either like kids' basketball shorts, or just plain matronly and frumpy. These shorts succeed. The flat front creates a sleek look, while the shorts are otherwise roomy for maximum movement. The fabric is very light and breathable and the 7" inseam is not so long as to interfere with high levels of activity. I thought that the pockets would provide unneccessary bulk, but the fabric is so thin, and they lie so flat that they go unnoticed while not in use. These shorts are highly functional for long runs, but the styling transitions them into casual territory, making them perfect for running, hiking, and general active, hot weather use.
