Jan 9, 2016Does not workMy first foot pod did not work and I returned it for another and the replacement would not sync with my watch even after deleting all sensors. I am going to return this one too.

Read More I'm not sure if it's the pod or watch but this is my second pod in 3 months with problems. I'm connected to the VivoActive and after 3-4 weeks of continued use (an hour a day), the reliability drops off the cliff. The batteries are supposed to last for years so I don't get it. I don't think it's the watch b/c it wouldn't work consistently at all. When I change the pod batteries, it works fine for a few days and drops off again. Is this a Garmin quality issue? Or is my gym bag too close to my watch during the day, causing the pod to drain (it isn't supposed to work that way--no movement should turn off the pod). Very frustrating. -

Read More The concept of measuring cadence is important. The opportunity to record on the GPS watch is a great idea. But the footpod cannot account for all types of running strides. I find with very short strides, it will fail to measure both feet and the cadence is recorded as half what it really is. This corrupts the data with erroneous information, rendering all the measurements useless. If there were a way to calibrate to one's stride length then this problem would be gone. If you have a "normal" stride and need to research your running cadence then this might be of marginal use. -

Read More I bought this product to help me with becoming an efficient runner for Triathlons. I've never been a runner until after I turned 50.. Reading and working with coaches I needed to learn how to run and also run efficiently. This product combined with my Garmin 910tx have been terrific for me. Easy to set-up/pair with my Garmin and the alerts I get as well as the graphical data show me how I'm progressing and what I need to still work on. -
Apr 11, 2013Very AccurateEasy to use and provides good data.

Read More I bought this to start tracking my treadmill training runs over the winter training season with my Garmin Forerunner 305. So far it has worked great. It seems very accurate after calibration. It generally measures within about 1% of the treadmill over a 5 mile run. It's a very simple "set it up and forget about it" deal. When I turn on the Garmin it soon tells me that it detected the foot pod and asks if I want to use it indoors. (Don't say yes if you're running outdoors, else it will ignore the GPS). That's it. The device will track your workout and you can analyze your cadence, pace and distance when you're done. -

Read More So I want to add about the previous poster. I would questions a trainer who does not know they need a heart rate to calculate calorie burn. Blaming this foot pod for not working during a non-walking running activity is like blaming a drill for not cutting wood. This foot pod is designed for walking and running! Now that said I have worn it during boot camp and arobics and I get some information but the best tool for those activities is a heart rate strap.
