Read More All in all, perfect for what I was looking for. Comfortable, doesn't dig in when you sit down. Secure, ain't coming off the belt. Takes me 2 hands to remove the whole thing from the belt, but that's OK. Fits the iPhone 5 with a minimal cover easily, with a little extra room. It's snug with the Lifeproof case I have, but there's elastic on the ends that stretch to accommodate it. I did cut out the little pocket on the inside because it got it way of taking the phone in/out--my thumb tended to go into the pocket when taking the phone out, and the phone would go in the pocket when putting it back in. I know the velcro on the flap will wear with time, but that's expected. There's enough room to handle something wider, but not much taller than what I have. An Otterbox fits about the same as my case (tried a friend's w/ an iPhone). My take on the max dimensions for a phone with case are 5.5 x 3.25" and a little more than .5" thick. A shorter length will allow a little wider or thicker. -

Read More Had previously used a smaller version of the Nite Ize Sideways case for a messaging phone and after several years of use, proved to be sturdy and provided good protection. Only a couple issues, one was cosmetic. The rubberized trim eventually began to wear off, but had no effect on the function of the case. The other, velcro eventually looses it's "stick" but never to the point where the phone popped out of the case accidentally. The plastic belt clip never gave any problems. The large size Sideways case just purchased looks identical in quality and fits my Moto X phone perfectly with minimal added bulk when worn on the belt. Expecting it to last as long as it's predecessor. -

Read More This is the ideal size for a larger smart phone in a protective case. (For example, it fits the Galaxy S4 in an Otterbox Defender perfectly.) Bonus: the belt clip is the perfect size for attaching to the strap on a Timbuk2 Classic Messenger; even the largest Timbuk2 3way Accessory Case, which is meant for this purpose, is nowhere near large enough for the latest generation of large-screen smartphones. -
Jul 17, 2010Good Little Cell Phone CaseI use this little cell phone case everyday. It holds my phone securely to my belt. I like the pen holder loop and the elastic pocket in back under the flap.
Read More This has been my go-to phone case over the life of 3 smartphones. I believe this is the 4th one of these cases I've purchased over 5 or 6 years. It was the first case I found with a really secure belt clip, that also contains the phone securely and protects it from damage. It's just large enough for my Galaxy S4 wearing a thin silicone shell. My only complaints are that the velcro is a bit noisy if you need to get your phone out in a quiet place, and that the case eventually gives up the ghost, either from the velcro wearing out or the very sturdy plastic belt clip breaking off, cause I caught it on something and tried to keep truckin' instead of stopping to unhook. At it's low price, it's not too painful to replace, and I still feel like it's a good value.
