Read More I first picked up the Diva Cup before I attended Burning Man (a week long outdoor festival) in 2010. Been using cups ever since, even with an IUD (it's safe if you are careful). Takes a bit of an adjustment period but well worth it. You'll save money! I've had the same one since 2010 for 5 years now and it's still in very good condition. Think about all the trees and money you'll be saving. A godsend for backpackers. More than that, I'm all about comfort and this is by far the most comfortable option I have found. -

Read More I wish I had discovered this product years ago- it's basically life changing. Takes a cycle or two to get the hang of it, so I recommend trying it out at home, and not for the first time in a foreign country, or other excursion. Follow the insertion and removal instructions- most important is breaking the seal prior to removal- or you will cause yourself unnecessary and extreme pain. Also helpful to insert/remove in the shower the first few times. Once you get the hang of it, you're golden, and it's totally a dream. Pros: The cup fits so comfortably, I honestly can't even feel when I'm wearing it. Even when tampons are inserted correctly, I could always feel it rubbing a bit. I love being able to put the Diva Cup in in the morning, work a 12 hour shift, and not worry about having to change it the whole day. It's amazing. I don't even bother wasting money on tampons anymore. It's perfect for the traveler who prefers to pack light, as it entirely negates the need for a big bag full of tampons. Cons: Truly, why hadn't I heard of this 10 years ago?? -

Read More Purchased this based on positive reviews, and all were proven correct. It's true what they say, there is a learning curve initially, but I found it easiest to perfect the technique of both insertion and removal in the shower, and now that's pretty much how I do it every time--once in the morning and once in the evening before bed. The only day where I ever have to empty it in a public restroom is on day 2 (my demon day), where if I don't empty it every 5 hours or so, it gets full and can become messy or potentially leak. It isn't a big deal though if you stay on top of it. Hopefully you know your heavy day and can plan accordingly. That shouldn't deter anyone from purchasing one, though. It's the most reliable method out there, and I can't believe I didn't know about this many years ago! I could have saved myself a lot of money and hassle over the last 15 years. No matter, because I look forward to never buying or using another tampon ever again. -

Read More I purchased this item due to an upcoming long distance hike/journey where I would need to travel as light as possible...let's face it, carrying a bunch of pads and tampons takes up a lot of room! The cup works really well! A bit of advice, I would get some practice with it a few months (if possible) before your long journey and wear a panty liner during those first few months just in case there is an issue with improper placement causing a leak. After a bit of practice, it becomes second nature! Benefits: You can wear it longer (12 hours), no string that gets yucky, reduces bulk in luggage or pack. Comfortable (barely know it's there). Draw Back: Tip is long so it may need a bit of a trim, takes a bit of practice during initial use and eventually gets slightly discolored after long term use (months later), but it does not effect the integrity of the product. I highly recommend it for ladies that are on-the-go! -

Read More I've actually had a Diva Cup for about 8 years now and I wish I would have known about them before (apparently silicon menstrual cups have been around since the 70's). Like the other reviewers have mentioned, it has a learning curve. At least a few cycles before I was ready to go commando with it. Even still, I get lazy and forget to empty it so I tend to leak a little on the heavy days. I bought the model 1 since I was in my 20's and haven't given birth. Anyway, some tips: - if it feels like it pokes out a little, try cutting off the little tip on the end. Don't worry, you'll still be able to get a good grip on it. - If you leaked a little, it's gonna be messy when you change it. If you're at home, no biggie since you can just wash your hands in the sink and rinse it off too. Away or in a stall, you'll have some blood on your fingers. Just bring a water bottle along and you can rinse off a little. - Easiest empty ever: THE SHOWER. At the end of my cycle I just boil it in some water for 15 minutes and we're ready for the next month. I think it says to buy one every 5 years, but I figure if you can have silicone boob implants for decades then this can last me awhile too as long as I keep it sanitary. Haven't bought tampons or pads in forever and it's saved me some SERIOUS cash. Absolutely recommend. Plus, you'll convert some friends and be all nice to the planet too. -

Read More The diva cup honestly changed my whole world when it came to the unwanted monthly time. This was recommended to me by a friend right before I went out on a road trip. I ended up needing it towards the end of my trip, and I will admit, I was nervous about using it for the first time. The moment I used it, it was as if it wasn't even there. I forgot I even had it or that I was on my monthly visit! I will say, have an open mind about this and relax, it's not weird or crazy, just a bit of an adjustment compared to using tampons (which I will no longer go back to). If there is one thing to complain about the diva cup is that if you are a heavy flow, you may want to check more regularly, but not as often as you would if you were using Tampons. Besides that, go for it! It's amazing and friends who I have recommended it to are quickly appreciating the great change! -

Read More I work as an outdoor adventure guide, so I spend 130 + days a year in the field camping/backpacking/away from home etc. A fellow guide shared her love for the Diva with me almost 2 years ago, and boy, am I thankful to her! I bought the Diva then, and have only used a couple tampons in the past 2 years. I highly recommend it to all my lady friends and female guests on trips. 1) The Diva is SO convenient for not only backcountry life, but also around the house and daily activities! If I am anywhere near to starting my period, I have one small cup in it's cute little holding bag to carry with me just in case I start vs guessing how many tampons/pads I will need for the week. Also, when you are on your period it is with you 24/7 so no more running to the bathroom and freaking out that your tampon is full and you forgot your extras in the car. 2) Way more environmentally friendly, and you save money fast! We all know how crazy expensive tampons are. Within a few months you have already saved money, and the landfills from your waste. 3) AMAZING IN WATER! I am in the creek a lot for certain trips, and soggy tampons were the worst. With the Diva you never have to worry about this! NEGATIVES: Pretty close to none! Be prepared for a trial/error period.. Getting the diva in the right placement can be a little tricky at first, but once you get the hang of it you cannot even feel it is in. I have had my cup for almost 2 years and there is a little discoloring of the clear material but other than that it is perfect shape. Apparently the Diva originally said it could last 20 years, and then due to some regulations they changed and said that it was recommended to be changed more often (but I have read reviews of women who have had theirs for 5 + years and still going strong). Seriously, this thing will change your period and your life. Just give it a chance and a little getting used to and you will never go back to tampons!!
