Mar 21, 2016Fit differently from VoyageurCompared to Voyageur, these have narrower toe box and thicker heel.

Mar 20, 2016Quality but tighter fit than many KeensOverall excellent quality shoe but I had to return because the toe box is not quite as large as other Keens.

The first two pairs have done portions of the AT, the British C2C, and daily around-town stuff about 5 days a week..Both original pairs still have some miles left in them, but I wanted a fresh pair for another long hike in Britain this May. Obviously, I like 'em. -

Read More I have used this shoe for upland bird hunting in eastern Oregon. It has been reliably comfortable, supportive and grippy over both grassy and rocky terrain. Its outer fabrics resist some very stubborn thorns, thistles and sticky seed pods. The only surface where I have experienced a loss of traction is on lichen-covered wet basalt, but I have never found a sole surface that sticks in that circumstance. I previously wore a pair of vasque shoes which were decent but wore out too quickly in my opinion. After one upland season (October to January) I am hopeful they will hold up for two or three seasons. -

Read More The Keen Targhee II are easily the most comfortable day hikers I've ever worn. And unlike, competing shoes, they also provide adequate arch support. In addition, they're have a wide toe box, which is great for eliminating the formation of blisters on your big toe, if you have wide feet. Unfortunately, these hikers are pretty shoddy. Expect the black lugs, which are attached to the sole, to fall off, and the sole itself to separate from the leather upper after a few months of hard wear or a couple of spins in the washing machine. I suspect the problem is Keen's choice of glue or how it's applied. That's right, the lugs are not part of the sole, but glued to it and the sole itself is glued, rather than sewn tightly to the leather upper. Thankfully, REI stands behind all of its products, so you can return the shoes, when they fall apart. But why bother? Merrill and Teva make similar shoes that are (frankly) not as comfortable, but won't fall apart. BTW, I've worn four pairs of these shoes and experienced the aforementioned loss of lugs and sole delamination with all four. I give the shoes two stars because they're so comfortable. -

Read More First off, I'm a lady and for some reason only the men's sizes from keen fit me, bit they fit well so I have no beef. I purchased this pair after my last ones all but fell apart after years of globetrotting and abuse. Towards the end I knew I would only love another shoe if it was like my previous ones. So far so good with these! Only weirdness that I have found is that in a warehouse environment, if the metal flooring gets wet, these shoes will try to kill you. All other terrain these are bulldogs. They fit well and my toes are already making their own grooves. No break-in time either which I love. I'm a keen kinda gal. -
