Great fit for short women!
I am 5'2" and typically wear a women's size 12. I purchased these pants in large, and they fit perfectly! They are the perfect length, and the waist fits fine. The waist cinches are on the outside, so they are easy to access. The vents are also on the outside instead of the inner part of the leg, making them easy to reach as well. They are comfortable and roomy while giving a tailored fit and not looking sloppy. Even though it is a shell, there is a tricot-like lining that provides some warmth. I haven't tried this on a warm day, but there is definitely room if you wanted to wear a base layer underneath. I would make the base layer somewhat smooth so it doesn't stick to the lining. I purchased the brown pair to go with the white Milletan jacket, and it looks awesome. The waist does sit a little high, but they are designed that way, and there is little chance of snow accidentally coming in. The only comment I have is that I wish REI would carry the boot-cut version in short because its a more flattering fit. I highly recommend these pants
